AFC Stoneham host AFC Portchester on Saturday at 3pm.
We would like to invite all Eastleigh supporters to join us after your game with Halifax. All Eastleigh season ticket holders will be kindly asked to make a contribution of £3 to gain entry.
This is our last league game of the season before we enter the play offs starting with our semi final at home on Tuesday with a 7.45pm kick off.
We look forward to seeing you and your support is hugely welcome and appreciated.
Thank you.

Thanks, that's a nice offer - I also mentioned the game in another thread, i'm hoping to be there.
Since it's so near, I'll still have time to show my appreciation of the Eastleigh players when they do their lap at the end of the game :-)
I see that if Shaftesbury win tonight (but they have a difficult game at Portland) then you'll still need a point on Saturday to clinch second place and (theoretically) an easier playoff game.
EDIT: Shaftesbury did win tonight
Whatever, the playoff semi-final will be at your place next Tuesday 23rd April, I think? Or Wed April 24th if you finish third?

We can confirm that the club will be trialling entrance to saturdays game without having to enter the reception area and present a QR code.
Ground entrance will be available via the large gates situated to the left of the main building as you approach.
Thank you.

Decent game, Stoneham won 3-1 and are now at home to Baffins on Tuesday in the playoffs.
Entrance to the left seemed to work well, strangely I had to go out at the end through the main entrance, with everybody else...

Slightly anomalous situation in the wessex league in that the league season is not finished, yet the playoffs have already started.
Anyway a win for Stoneham tonight, they face Shaftesbury or Porchester at home on Saturday. Could be a record ever crowd for them?
I believe Brett Pittman broke Andy Forbes Wessex league scoring record by 1 in ending the season with 56 goals.

AFC Stoneham win 2-1 with a memorable last minute goal. Attendance 270.

I think that that for leagues where the clubs at leagues where the teams are at step 5 or 6 level some teams who are behind with their fixtures who are not in contention for the playoffs were being allowed to complete their fixtures later. That was also true of the Hellenic League. I think though the National League and the Southern League are keen for all teams to ply their final matches of the season at the san time. This aims at making matches like the West Germany v Austria world cup match of 1982 where neither team attempted to score for the final 82 minutes of the game.

As far as I know...
Wessex Prem insisted that all games were completed by Apr 27. However, the playoff teams were known before this so they have started the playoffs this week, and allowed non-playoff teams another week to complete. This meant that Fareham were asked to play 11 games in 18 days, they had to switch some to being away, cancel an important charity game at their ground, and we had to move the Hampshire Prem finals to AFC Totton at short notice because they have to play their last game on that day. Hythe and Dibden were close to that number too.
Wessex 1 plays more games and Apr 27 will decide the playoff places, the playoffs begin the week after. Teams not involved in the playoffs will complete their backlog that week too e.g. totton and Eling.
Shaftesbury beat Portchester 1-0 in the other playoff last night (attendance 356) so they will be travelling to Stoneham on Saturday for the final. I saw the league game, won by Shaftesbury 2-1 with a last minute Pitman penalty. Could be similarly close this time too.

Brett Pittman sounds good if he's beaten Forbesy record, should have a look at him 😉
Shaftesbury 'only' getting mid 350 crowd doesn't particularly bode well if they go up, Portchester would have had over 1000 easily but they keep failing year upon year

Brett Pittman sounds good if he's beaten Forbesy record, should have a look at him 😉 LOL Guess who scored the winner last night? Yes, Shaftesbury do not have a big following, they must have a lot of money from somewhere, they've bought a few decent players to support Pitman. There was only 111 at Stoneham for the league fixture, however, we were playing Aldershot in the Trophy that day.

It seems that the Wessex League Division 1 clubs have yet to complete their fixtures, while both Hellenic League Division 1 playoffs were played o n Tuesday 16th April with some clubs in contention having to play twice in the midweek beforehand to get their games in, # It iss funny to think that around 30 years ago there were replays in F A Vase, county cups and league cups and seasons 1990/91. 1994/85 and 2000/01 were amongst those with bad weather.
