Great timing from TNT to televise Kelvin Davis' home debut as Eastleigh manager against second in the table Bromley.
They beat leaders Chesterfield last weekend 4-3 in a thriller but then let a 2-0 lead slip to draw with Dag and Red at home.
Let's hope we can play like we did in the first half at Oxford City and get something from this game. And let TNT viewers see that we are on the way back!

Feeling quite confident we won’t get beaten.
We have conceded 35 goals in our last 13. Hopefully 0 or 1 today!

Great to actually have some passion from the bench today, could hear Danny at one point have a go at Reeves for passing sideways instead of forward which I loved. Defended really well and just really good positive play.

Really solid performance today, looked well organised and a first clean sheet for almost 6 months!
Can't believe Maguire didn't feature, not a bad player to have on the bench. Good to see Oscar Rutherford play a full 90, he looks a good prospect, lot of things he tried didn't come off but definitely potential.
Also a word of condolence for the Bromley keeper, not his best game.
2 wins from 2 for Kelvin Davis. :0)

On that showing it's looked like KD had ditched the RH attempt to 'play football', and go back to the traditional Spitfire methods of 100% effort and scrapping for everything.
He picked a team to do it, and it generally worked. And the front two also produced that bit of quality to make the difference. Fantastic header by Macca because he two defenders were crawling all over him (as they were all match). This sort of game suits Quigley and he responded with a good goal and making himself a nuisance all day.
The only problem I could see was where Reeves was fitting in? Oscar did his defending well and looked dangerous at times coming forward. Reeves is not a defender and in this formation with the brief above there may not be a place for someone with his creative talents. That probably includes Maguire too, as tenacres observed.
Otherwise, encouraging. Now seven points off the bottom four and (whisper it) only eight points off the playoffs, with two more playoff candidates to play at home this week. We'll need similar committed performances from the team (and consistently) to get much out of them.

Play Offs? No chance. But today was more like it and underlines how much Hill has held us back in recent weeks. Mid-table mediocrity beckons again but if there are more afternoons like today I'll take that.

I think McCallums goal came off his back, he directed it though & it was a good finish. Nice to see him & Quigley have a close bond :0) That wouldn't surprise me. But to direct it into the goal was pretty inspired. I don't expect to make the playoffs either. But a couple of wins under KD, in this tight division, and we can almost look up as much as down. Let's see if we can still say that in a week's time :-)
