3-1 Win!! 3 more points on the board. Another game we dominated and could've/should've won far more easily.
We still need a clinical goalscorer. But still are sitting within a point of the play offs.
Crowd was 2327 with a decent 300 ish from York.

Yes, a better performance, there were fewer unforced errors and our front three turned up trumps again.
I think McCallum is one of the better goalscores in the division, is it seven in the last three home league games now?
York have several well-known NL players (Cordner, Howe, Woodyard, John-Lewis) and if they had someone to support John-Lewis up front they would have run us closer. As it is they missed a couple of clear chances, but then again we could had more too.
I thought Harris had a decent debut, replacing the departed Carter.
Was surprised to see the attendance figure given what we've had recently, and the weather. The pitch was good today considering. Had to go in throogh the South Stand, so saw the new bar, looked fine, reminded me of the one at Saints.
I see Southend gave Solihull Moors only their secind league defeat of the season, beating then 5-0.

Still not sure why RH continues to play Quigley. Was awful again today. Should move Enzio up front with Mcallam and put Rutherford at RB. Think the team would be much more balanced.

I've said this before, but I think the front three work very well together. Quigley may look ungainly, and not everything works for him, but he gets through a lot of work, links up with McCallum well, and weighs in with the odd goal. Often he helps McCallum have the time and space to do what he's good at - scoring goals. He's also a good target for Maguire, who pulls the strings.
Forgot to mention: his crossfield pass for Maguire to score the first goal was an absolute peach.

I think Quigley, whilst looking deceptively slow and ungainly is actually very much the opposite and a bit of a pain in the arse for defenders to deal with. Meanwhile Enzio flatters but fails to ever beat a man.

Deserved the win but still not convinced about us defensively. York missed a couple of great chances to get a second as well as the offside “goal”.
Great strike from Chris maguire, will enjoy watching it back. As he went to shoot I thought don’t do that! I second letter I had changed my mind :-
Paul McCallum now joint top scorer in the league, whilst he is fit we have to be considered Playoff contenders, without him I am not convinced

We still need a clinical goalscorer. Paul McCallum? He's banging them in for sure, but I am concerned that we have no back up should he get injured/suspended.

We don’t have a transfer window in this league so am sure if needed we’ll get someone in

My first visit of the season and have to say the South Stand is a massive improvement on what was there before. Decent toilets in the corner too. Brought a first timer friend and he was very impressed with the stadium, expecting much less. Really enjoyed the game and the style of play RH has the team playing. Jayden Harris looks a useful acquisition, if only for a few weeks. Maybe he'd fancy a return down south for good? Only three on the pitch from last season, so PM apart, seven new players to me. EB could be very useful if he could shoot with his left foot, but overall, he looks a very good player at this level. Negative comments about Quigley a bit off the mark, I'd say. He is an unorthodox forward, and that can be a strength to a team. Overall, a well deserved win, although with more composure YC could have drawn the game or even won it, which would have been harsh on Eastleigh.

Excellent game, really enjoyable....I thought RH would be a disaster but he's been the exact opposite....makes you realise how dire the football was under Bradbury.
Harris is on loan until January according to the Carlisle manager in their local paper.
Could do with a pacy forward on the bench to come for the last 20 mins or so, apart from that I'm happy.

Nice to see a post from yourself Nobad, or FromeSpitfire these days 🙂 glad you enjoyed it and your friend. Is your friend local? Did he say whether he'd come back again

You are correct, Callum, I am as far as I know, the only Frome Spitfire, but I believe I can't change Nobad to Frome and prefer not to set up a new profile. My friend lives in Frome too. I'm a S/T holder at Frome Town now, don't go to many of their away games & have managed to drag him along to one game there so far. I will try to bring him along to a future EFC games I travel down to, but I can't see him being a regular 'fan'.
