Good to watch for the 1st 10 minutes, after that l got agitated at the lack of effort, playing the lazy option. Get it down the by line and cross it in!!

Not much seemed to have progressed since the last time I saw them (the first friendly v Bristol Rovers). But, of course, it's early days yet, they say.....
The link up between Maguire and McCallum looked promising. As bomber said the passing was good to watch for the first 10 minutes, otherwise it wasn't very encouraging, especially in the second half. The visitors won most 50-50s and played some good stuff. With better finishing they could have won. I suppose our defence looked fairly solid with Taylor marshalling them, but looked pretty slow to release the ball at times and there was an alarming lack of marking a couple of times. Not a lot from the wings. McCallum long throws looked dangerous, shame he can't run in and head it at the same time. The same 2-3 new players who didn't impress me in the Bristol Rovers match (I know it was a month ago, and the team was changed at half time) didn't impress me today either.
Lots of work to do before Barnet (looking good in the late TNT Sport match at the moment) on Tuesday, one of the favourites after strengthening a play-off standard squad.

My god that was disappointingly poor, lots of experience but NO PACE anywhere in the team. Charlie Carter one of our star players last season looked totally out of salts in an overcrowded midfield. No full back overlapping, no width. Wealdstone are part timers but to be honest I thought they looked sharper than us. If it were a boxing match I’d have given them a win on points. As a family we have bought our usual 5 season tickets, please don’t put us through too many performances like that this season

Missed the game today, but doesn't sound like I missed much. Thought we would win today, sounds disappointing.
Hopefully 3 points Tuesday will kickstart things

Don’t really know what you all expect. LB is still there, no man management, disliked by many players etc.etc. He had a team last year that were easily able to get to the play offs but ridiculous tactics and playing players in wrong positions. He’s a joke.

The frustrating thing is you could easily see we had the better players but seemed to just be content to never attack. I think we might’ve had 1 maybe 2 legitimate shots on goal. Says it all when Joe McDonnell picked up man of the match for making about 2 saves!

PLEASE Stewart, Get rid of Bradborey before his (lack of) football ruins another season! This year is our best opportunity to have a great run into the play offs, don't let LB blow it!

I got bored after the first 10 minutes. Same old football as last year. Considering it was our first home game the atmosphere was awful, have we lost our singing section? LB out by end of September and get the cowleys in!

I have the same sentiments regarding the first 15/20 minutes, I was excited by the way we played, short sharp passing on a great pitch with Joe looking to play out with his full backs and then for some reason you could see the pressing stop and confidants starting to disappear. As hi lighted Charley look lost out on the left, I'm not sure what is going on with him because he is a very good player. I always try to take some positives from a game and thought Mcguire is a good player and looked very comfortable on the ball but we never got it to him in the right positions. I will touch on the atmosphere, I was really surprised with the turn out and don't think there was 2000 people in the ground, such a shame when you have 170 away fans making more noise.lets put it down to summer holidays.

I might come along on Tuesday, but am expecting Barnet to put us to the sword. If that happens, 2 points from a possible 9 from 2 home games and 1 away game is going to get the BoD feeling twitchy, especially if we don't attack them and go all defensive at 0-0.

Solihull haven't had a great summer and you would expect Wealdstone to finish midtable or lower, if we want the play offs you expect 4 points minimum from those games. I wanted LB gone last season, but given the signings I thought we would make a better start. Big concern for beyond points dropped is the defensive set up, Carter looking lost positionally, full backs hardly getting forward and the lack of pace. I worry how well thought through our signings up front were, feels like we've got a number of players who want to play at 10, and wonder if we are repeating mistakes of the past and signing a bunch of 30 somethings on high wages. I'm a bit baffled as why we would sign McCallum if we don't play with width, his impressive goal tally for us when we had width from Hare and Green, and of course Yeates.
On the positive side, goals against column is good, we could have sneaked it towards the end and LBs substitutions were positive with Quigley looking dangerous.

I think that with regards to the manager it should be noted that in Stewart's previous spell at the club we twice changed mangers early in the season after making several changes to the playing squad in pre-season. On the first occasion we found ourselves in the relegation zone at Christmas and on the second occasion after two managers came and went we found ourselves in freefall until Richard Hill came back to stabilise things and we want to avoid similar scenarios.
On thing I observed is that of the 14 outfield players in the squad of 16 I do not think a single one played for the club during 2021/22, and I am not sure how many of our new signings have ever previously been team mates of any of those they are currently playing with. I thought a key ingredient of our promotion season of 2013/14 was players already at the club recommending to other good players whom they had played with previously.
I also thought that the best individual seasons enjoyed by Eastleigh players in recent times have been Paul McCallum (2018/19) and Charlie Carter last season, but from what has been suggested on here the pattern of play to date has not utilised the best qualities of either player.
There is still 44 games to go (43 after tomorrow) and there will be many twists and turns over the course of the season in the battle for promotion and playoff places.

Good observations UQ. Although disagree with last paragraph as I'm sure super Ron Martins Southend Utd have already won the league.
At the end of the day LB voice isn't the only voice, there are atleast 20 others who can decide how we play. If the punters aren't enjoying it ultimately that will decide things
