Hoping to make my first visit to Solihull, trains from Liverpool (God bless National Rail) work well but best to exit at Birmingham Airport or Solihull itself? Looks like a **** walk either way after that. Is it segregated at Solihull? Cheers

Same old, same old, he's not changed, despite having three quality strikers and an excellent winger to attack. Score a goal away from home, try to defend it, and get caught at the death. It is pathetic, if the Manager is not prepared to let his players express themselves and play to their natural ability when they feel they are better than the opposition, then LB needs to go now before it gets worse. He is a coward, if you can't set up to play and win, don't bother. A few more away games like this and he's gone before October.....20 points away last season tells the story, if we want to get promoted then away tactics need to change.

LB is striving for consistency - consistently the same failings. So glad I didn’t go today.

We were so in control of that game, it was a clear first goal wins kind of game yet we still blew it. We were more dynamic than last season I can tell that from this 90mins we'll be better, but we seriously need to have more shots on goal, they lost their goalie recently we should have been ploughing their young lad all game.
A certain someone is gonna get dropped asap and I hope the management have the balls to a - deal with that b - work with the problem that player might give them, but he's just not gonna cut it over Maguire , Quigley, Barlow. Would rather play him CM than up top , cos up top ain't gonna work anymore

I was amongst the almost 200 Spitfires fans at Solihull.
For 80 minutes, we bossed a game against a decent side. True we dropped off in lat 10 minutes and conceded late on but we would have won were it not for the excellent Solihull goalkeeper Tommy Simpkin who I believe is on loan from Wolves.
We have a lot of new players (as did Solihull) and it is bound to take time for the team to fully gel.
This will be a good result provided we back it up by beating Wealdstone

It is pathetic, if the Manager is not prepared to let his players express themselves and play to their natural ability when they feel they are better than the opposition, then LB needs to go now before it gets worse. He is a co ward, if you can't set up to play and win, don't bother. A few more away games like this and he's gone before October.....20 points away last season tells the story, if we want to get promoted then away tactics need to change.Like others who were at the game say, it will take a while for this newly assembled team to gel, and yet we bossed this game for 80 minutes and were unlucky not to have come away with three points. Having watched the game on TV, I think, early days, we looked a vastly more experienced and composed team than last season and with a little luck could have been a few up by half time. This bodes well for the season ahead and I would hope that after this result, the majority of our supporters are excited about the possibilities the new season holds. But no, there are always going to be those negative supporters that starts whinging at the very first opportunity. I suppose this goes with football and that we are supposed to put up with them. But I strongly object when some idiot starts calling our manager a coward and calling for his head after the first game of the season. Who the F do you think you are? Do you know what was discussed in the change rooms? To say that he is not allowing his players to express themselves tells me that you were present, were you? Do you not think that the whole team, including the manager, are not massively disappointed that two points were stolen from us in extra time? You say that 20 point away last season tells a story, well just missing out on the play offs last season with the budget we had, tells me that we had a season that I would gladly have taken at the off. The team AND the manager outperformed expectations and that is a fact!!! Perhaps, if you are such a wizard, you should get into management, but no, that is not what you are made of, you are the type that prefers to sit behind your keyboard banging away with your negative crap, calling people cowards and breeding discontent from the very first day of the season. No team needs supporters like you, but as I have already said, I suppose it takes all types, that said, it does not mean that you are not going to be challenged when you are out of order and this is such a time. Hopefully you will apologise to Lee Bradbury for calling him a coward but I suspect you won't, I wonder why?

I think it is frustrating to lose a 1-0 lead late on against 10 men, but looking at the team list I think that in the starting line-up there were six players who were not here last here last season plus four on the bench.
In my mind there is no doubt the reason we missed out on the playoffs the away games before Christmas produced 6 points from 12 games and the spell of 4 games in 8 days at the end of the season resulted in just one pint. If you take these 16 games out of the equation we averaged 2 points per game.
To remedy this, I think we have a larger squad this season we have a larger squad this season and should be better able to cope with a spell of four games in eight days should it arise and actually our record in our last 10 away games have produced 4 wins, 3 draws and 3 losses, with the 2 of the 3 defeats coming in the spell of 4 games in 8 days and the other against Notts County so I certainly do not think our recent away form has been too catastrophic.
Last season we won 10 league matches and drew 5 league matches 1-1, but in two of the latter games we came from behind to earn a point, and one of the three we surrendered the lead was the final match of the season which had no bearing on the playoffs so I do not think that turning 1-0 victories into 1-1 draws is as much of a problem that is made out to be.
Against Solihull Moors in each of the last three seasons we have lost at Soihull Moors and drawn with them at home so in fact we have an excellent chance of getting a better return from our two games against them this season.
Looking at Paul ,McCallum's successful season of 2018/19 when his goals played a key part in taking us to the playoffs I think it is fair to say that he thrived on having a wide man putting balls in the box for him, but I think if you look it our goals that season apart from Ben Williamson most of our next highest scorers in the team were either midfield players or defenders and Williamson started just over the games. Actually in his post match interview Lee Bradbury said that Quigley and Maguire had less of a pre-season than most of the other players and needed more time to get match fit. However it is perhaps also worth mentioning that we had two strikers on the pitch when the equalizer was scored.
I personally think that Charlie Carter and Oscar Rutherford who started yesterday our good at supporting our attacks and it seems that wide player Enzio Boldevijn gave a man of the match performance and scored a goal.

I think the highlights speak volumes, it's all us. They even missed the cracker from Maguire in the last minute.

Personally a point away from home with a team getting to know each other is a good result, yes disappointing not being able to hold on, but great result to start with.
Good number of travelling support too, remember a number of years ago when we had away days and cheap travel hopefully a few more trips can be subsidised to keep the numbers up.

Another thing to pick up on is the ridiculous amount of time being added on, think it was 6 first half and 8 second half? Games are now going to be atleast 100+ minutes but still have to work off 3 subs from 5 instead of the the league above.
