I don’t understand how the average Eastleigh fan can’t see LB is the problem. The squad is good enough to be top six but he has consistently set the team up not to lose or to defend a draw or one goal advantage. He is clueless in his tactics and a poor manager. You only have to ask where would he be if he wasn’t at Eastleigh- the answer would be nowhere as he simply isn’t good enough at this level.

The vast majority of Eastleigh away games in the League have been drab, and though there has been a magnificent set of loyal away supporters through thick and thin, the LB away set up has cost the team a lot of extra away support which would mean so much to the players. We have an impressive home record, only three defeats and those three teams are in the top five so why is there such a drastic change in set up and style away from home? It's not the players, its LB that is the problem, playing not to lose when we are in fact better than most, we should be playing to win away games. We would not have been able to challenge the top two this season, they both ought to be in League One come next summer, but with a positive manager in both home and away tactics, we could easily be sitting third. However, finishing 4th or 7th gives us the route to play Woking in the semi-final and reach Wembley, so with reaching the play offs an unexpected bonus the team should play without fear of losing, play to the best of their ability and see where it leads, coz if they play the LB tactics you might as well not bother. It looks like SD is coming home this summer, if he does, what does he do with LB? Back him or get rid? One remembers he backed Ian Baird in the summer transfer market, only to get rid 7 or 8 games into the season, so therein lies the problem, does he go with a new manager pre-season, or bring one in if LB fails and a new man has to work with someone else's squad. Not easy decisions to make, football management is brutal, its a results business and LB fails in away form, scared to lose. I'd much rather have 5 away wins and a draw with 4 defeats in ten (16pts), from trying to win, than 1 win, 2 draws and 7 defeats in ten (5pts) trying not to lose.

From what we've seen, SD is a football man who wants to see an entertaining style. Based on his tactics LB is an anti football man, who's sole aim is don't lose, I'd be more than happy to see SD IN, LB OUT in the summer. As SOE said, the top 2 are in a class of their own, but on paper, our squad is as good as Chesterfield, and much better than the other teams in the play off race. But LB's tactics & team selections have the side afraid to open up & play.

I'd be more than happy to see SD IN, LB OUT in the summer. Me too, despite the position the football has been dire.

So in summary, after the most optimistic predictions in August putting us in mid table, the manager has put together a very good squad of players with a great team spirit, which has seen us exceed all expectations and challenge for a play off spot. However, this is definitely not good enough because it has not been exciting or entertaining enough and we definitely should be playing every other team off the park (top 2 excluded) and finishing higher then the club has ever finished before. Hate to point out that this is League 5 football and we are not on the Disney Channel. Personally I've enjoyed the journey this season where ever it ends, I've definitely got my moneys worth and think the manager/team have done a great job. Keeping my fingers crossed for an exciting end to the season and consistency going forward.

I have not seen every home game, but have seen themn score 5 against Maidstone, 4 against Dorking Wanderers and 3 against Altrincham. I also saw the game against Bromley which was one of the three goalless draws this season and it could easily have finished 4-4.
The 9 away games since the turn of the year have produced 4 wins, 1 draw and 4 losses so am not sure whether that is consistent with playing not to lose.
I think that Stewart Donald's attitude to lee Bradbury might be influenced by Richard Hill and he might allow Richard to run the football side of things while providing the money for the players that are wanted.

We've had quite a few of the '1-0 up so let's dig in for the win' games at home this season, even against lower-ranked opposition.
Mr B has said several times that his job is to get results, and he's getting them. As I've said before, I think a playoff position is slightly overachieving given the resources and the competition.
I don't agree that the squad is 'top six' - the back 5 are, definitely, with cover available too, but I feel the midfield needs a better ballwinner and playmaker, and we've often looked light up front. We also don't have a decent set-piece deliverer, we used to be good at set pieces, we're pretty average now.
So IMO we have a pragmatic manager doing well enough with what we've got, not great to watch a lot of the time (will be interesting to see how this affects season ticket sales, given the price hike). Effective at home, only occasionally do we let rip, as in the games referred to by unknownquantity above. We've been poor away since before the arrival of Bradbury, whether this is mindset, tactics, or what, I'm not sure. It needs to be sorted! I admire the fortitude of those to travel to watch the team. Since all games will be away if we get in the playoffs, I'm not holding out much hope there.
If SD arrives then there will be big changes anyway, and RH will have an even bigger influence, but there may be more money to address the insufficencies I've listed above.

Lee Bradbury's biggest issue this season is that he didnt leave last month when his stock would have been at its highest
