And 1-0 was the final score as we protected a narrow lead against a team below us in the table, as we have many times at home this season.
The second half I found pretty grim viewing, but as we've said before, the manager is paid on results. He tells us that. We're still level on points with teams in the playoffs.
The winner looked like an own goal to me but it seems as if Carter was credited with it. His battle on the right with Beckwith was one of the few things worth watching today.
Solid performance, Whitehall and Mitchell linked up quite well, the latter looked decent although needs to finish better. He didn't play that much at Notts Co so hopefully he'll sharpen up.

The game poor, as dismal as the weather but it is a results business and Bradbury deserves credit for keeping the team in touching distance of the play offs. I don't think we'll quite get there but its nice to keep the season alive for as long as possible. Its also a big scrap against relegation this season with only Maidstone looking completely adrift. I am glad to avoid this.

We won, we defended well, we played some nice slick stuff and had three great chances to go 2 up. Magoma and Panter our best central defence partnership, Rutherford great potential and so strong for one so young, Kairo best hold up/target man we have had for a couple of seasons. All in all loads of positives.
Just don't get the doom and gloom, must be a SO post code thing where fans want their managers to fail.

There have been a number of times this season where we have played to protect a 1-0 lead but didn't think yesterday was one. Better finishing would have put us well out of reach of a team we were much better then, could not believe the Vinny miss and don't think he could either. Really good performance and 47 points at this stage of the season is a really good return

Saw the replay of the goal on Twitter - Carter may have got a slight touch on the cross (as people have said) but not possible to see from that angle. Anyway, to me, it still looks like it wasn't going on until the ball hit their no 2. Academic anyway, it was a goal and a good result for us.
My perception of the match seems to differ from others - I agree we looked comfortable in the second half and should have had more (particularly Harper) but I still got the impression we were sitting back. The substitution of Whitehall for Atangana was clearly a move designed to protect the lead, but that came quite late on.
I'm not one of those who has criticised the manager - I've said before I think he's doing a decent job given the resources. He's come up with a solution to losing Abrahams at very short notice and we are still one of the highest-placed 'non ex-FL clubs' in the division and still in with a shout of the play-offs. That doesn't mean I'm always entertained by the games. Maidenhead always work hard and are always difficult to beat here, but it was never going to be a classic. We did what we had to do, as I said, fairly comfortably.

I'm torn on Bradbury to be honest, and after Maidstone I wanted him out, but it's difficult to argue with 3 consecutive league wins. He's done a fair bit right, the league position is good especially considering budget/squad size, he's not afraid to give youth a chance and it was a good call to replace Abrahams with Mitchell, likewise when he swapped out Ebanks and brought in Lloyd. But, some of the performances have been dire and the biggest gripe I have is running the clock down for 45 mins or making negative substitutions v 10 men at home, we all know its a results business but you want to see attacking intent at least at home.
