9th v 5th, should be a good one.
And a new loan player just announced - Lewis Payne, defender, on loan from Southampton. Welcome to him.
No Klappers today, I assume.

Well beaten tonight but with Camp, Kelly, Rutherford, Hill, Whitehall, Abrahams all out it was hardly a surprise. No real options up front but actually had best two chances before Barnet went in front just before the break. Barnet very comfortable second half adding a second from a corner but not creating a huge amount considering their domination of the ball.
Let's hope we get a few players back ahead of the weekend especially the forward options.

First half hour was awful. We conceded two bad goals, as nkc said Barnet looked comfortable after the break, they looked solid but still surprised to see them fifth in the table. This is the first of six consecutive away matches for them so they will be pleased with this result.
We had lots of absences, but having Lloyd alone up front (he's never a target man) supported by three attacking midfielders didn't work, IMO. Hesketh had the best chance in the first half and it was a bad miss. The manager had little option on the bench but surely could have tried Simpson a bit earlier. I'd even have pushed a central defender like Martin up front and tried long balls for him to knock down. Debutant Payne had good moments but it wasn't a good game to judge him.
Not sure what reinforcements we will have for a meeting with an even higher-placed team, Woking, on Saturday.
I was concerned tonight at the number of spectators still in the car park at the time they let the cars out. Usually they're very careful to wait until virtually everyone is out. I will repeat again, we need segregation there.

Can we do a 2 for 1 and let Hesketh go to Gills too? How can someone consistently not beat the first man from corners and free kicks, every set piece was basically the start of us defending last night. With Cisse Maghoma Martin Panter on the pitch we should be scoring more from set pieces. Fair play to Barnet they came and attacked away from home , you could tell the result after 10-15mins they kept catching us out with quick through balls and their players consistently had 2 or 3 positive options to play to. Probably should have been a 0-3 / 0-4 drubbing.

I thought Panter's set piece delivery was excellent last night. He also forced their keeper into his only decent save. We should be making more use of him.
We used to have a few set-piece experts (one, Pritchard, was playing for Barnet last night), now we don't, and our main threat used to come from set-pieces, it doesn't now. More work needed on that, I think.

Good post-match interview with Mr.B on Twitter.
Said Abrahams 'has been taken away to Gillingham'. Strange phrase. Wonder how much he knew about it? Confirmed that he was in the lineup and was withdrawn when news of the transfer was confirmed.

Very very poor performance I understand we had availability issues, but only 1 up front, in home games, is worthless. Mid field was far too crowded surely one of those mid fielders could play as a striker. The entertainment value was zilch, came away thinking I had wasted an evening. Our set pieces particularly corners were awful no excuses for that we are a full time football club. Barnet showed us the way every corner was a threat and their 2nd goal came from a corner ball. Manager needs to resolve our attacking corner frailties quickly. No excuses when not beating first defender. Our league position is flattering but the quality and pattern of play is very disappointing. Can see our season fizzling into mediocrity very soon
