So much better tonight. More ball on the ground and Rutherford's best game by far. Good to see Bradbury doing a bit more managing from the sidelines. If Abrahams had been sharper we could have been 2 up at h-t. Been saying all season Vinny should play further up in front of Kelly. Interesting to see where Scunthorpe finish. They had some decent looking players but not that great a side. Nice to see Boycey back but no smile at the end.

Vinny came on after 67 minutes and took MOM. I don't quite know why he didn't start, usually looks one of our better players.
No Whitehall or Hill tonight so a decent win.
Still thought we were pretty lacklustre first half, but pretty solid defensively so can't complain too much!
Now about that away form...

Better to watch than the Torquay game, a much more open game. As I said last week, Cisse, although he didn't play particularly well, anchored the midfield and let the rest of them play. Carter just shaded MOM for me over McKiernan until Harper came on, and his speed, directness and, of course, finishing, proved decisive. Nice to see him back. We seemed to be running out of ideas before the substitution, although we looked fairly solid. The unbeaten home record continues - as tenacres says, we have to translate that into away form, so why not start with that Cup match on Saturday? Nothing to lose, I think - we're not expected to win. Scunny should be fine if they can find someone to score goals - midfield and defence looked decent, and they worked hard. Boycey was as good as ever, and came close with two trademark headers.

Thought I'd let a few comment before I did as was only my 2nd game. I thought it was a vastly better performance from my previous watch v Dagenham , more pace , more directness and knowing of what the plan was, calm in defence too. I still think it was destined for a 0-0 game until Harper came on, that sounds obvious as he scored 2 but there was no real outlet with quality before he came on. Abraham isnt a goalscoring striker so I think we need to look into that asap. Are we not rating Ebanks? If so get him gone and find someone else.

From the sounds of what Lee was saying after the match, Vinny probably shouldn't have even been back for the game, so wasn't fully fit to start but what a star for getting the two goals we needed. Lots of really nice football on show at points, just need to keep that going. Have we had a game where we have had a full strength squad with no injuries so far this season?

Much much much better. There were several key performances which would normally be worth a mention but it was especially good to see Cisse and Rutherford being able to capitalise on their opportunity to start the match and have such an influence for 90 minutes. I have no problems with Vinny Harper being held back till later as he had been missing for a few games and was able to run riot through their weary defence soon after getting onto the pitch. Normally by that stage of the match he has already run a few miles himself at speed. I still have concerns about how players seem to lack movement off the ball once we have possession in the opponent's half and for set pieces and throw-ins. It was a big step in the right direction though.

Abrahams didn't achieve much again the only thing he is good at is holding the ball up. The decision making especially in the first half was very poor alot of long distant shots that could of been made in to better chances. It was only for Scunthorpe being worse then ourselves and Vinnie bringing some better attacking quality we won.
Just typical we win and wanting managers out goes quite. I'm sure the Bradbury Out topic will start up again Saturday when we lose!!

I didn't comment as I was working so couldn't listen to the game so have no idea whether we absolutely battered them with a Brazilianesque display, or scrapped home with a couple of lucky breakaways.
