Huffed and puffed but the inevitable defeat again. We are fortunate that there are terrible bottom three teams this season as we look like a relegation side. As for Bradbury, I am going to be controversial here and already say he is not the man to take the club forward.

First home game of the season , great attendance, superb noise from the youngsters, but no roof at Sherwood end so pointless.
Get rid of the manager and all the players bar Harper, Smart and McDonnell now, play the EDS lads and start again pre season. Shocking, what have we become.

No shots on goal from us today, but a close game, with the sides separated by a defensive error. Joe McD also saved a penalty and Barnett missed a clear chance to equalise.
The team worked hard but was weakened by Covid. We particularly missed the dead ball delivery of Pritchard and the energy of Hill. The keeper and two central defenders played well, and Smart looked dangerous when he came on. I thought Camp (picked up an injury before half-time) and Silva had poor games (Hollands should have come on far earlier), and Hesketh should be doing far better for someone of his pedigree.
The visitors worked hard for their victory, with the names on their teamsheet they should be doing better than being on the fringes of the playoffs. McCallum scored, of course, and didn't celebrate.
Ref did OK apart from the decision to book Camp, one of the worst I've seen in ages.
We were competitive, hopefully we will be for Stockport on Saturday otherwise we could be in trouble.

So many loose passes, no attacking threat Pitman is absolute dog sh**, passed it just as I thought when we signed him.
Didn't think he was the man when he took over and certainly sticking by that currently. If we finish the season on a whimper the pressure will be on Bradbury straight away next season.

Bradbury was the uninspiring 'local' choice from a board with no real football connections or sense of direction. A few days ago comments were made about this forum being redundant but its clear from the posts on this thread that the natives are restless. The season started off on the wrong foot with a PR exercise to change the club badge without proper fan engagement and its gone down hill sense. The football has largely been garbage and some of the transfer dealings have been baffling to say the least. After questioning Strevens managerial performance I now think I was harsh. Its the board that need questioning. The club are in real danger of losing its professional status in the next 12 months and the legacy that Donald left behind. If the board read this forum the message is clear. Get out or find new investors who can take the club forward.

Prior to yesterday Solihull and Chesterfield were the only two home matches which I have seen in which Eastleigh have failed to score. However I did think that we played quite well against Chestefield and in the Solihull match their keeper made some good saves to keep us out.
Yeaterday I think their goalkeeper hardly had a save to make, although we put in a couple of dangerous crosses that no-one could vget on the end of and had a possible penalty turned down.
Bradbury seems to be an animated figure on the touchline. I personally did not think it is a bad idea recruiting a local manager with local contacts who want the job, although clearly the most important consideration is the ability to turn round the form which has seen just 6 points from the last 14 league games.
I do agree with the comments about the badge, especially when it is talked in terms of a great historical landmark at the club.
Thought that Sam Smart did well when he came on.

Last 14 league games have been:
home: W1 D2 L2 away: W0 D1 L8
As unknownquantity said, that's six points from 14 games, but nine of them were away and against teams higher in the league than us.
Overall the league form over the season is:
home: W8 D5 L4 away W2 D2 L13
It is clear that the problem likes away from the Silverlake, as I've been saying all season. I've seen all home games and I think the players are putting in the effort (as they were under Strevs) -but a lot of other clubs have more resources. As I said, that Dag and Red squad last night had several well-known NL players in it.
Too early to say for Bradbury, especially when we've lost Whelan and Hare recently, have lost some of our decent loanees, are trying to play some of our Academy players for the rest of the season, and have had Covid absences in the last few games.
As boyattthood says, it's what's happening behind the scenes that will ultimately matter.

I fear there is a serious mismatch between the fantastic stadium facility we see now at Eastleigh and the football being played there. Over recent months I have watched excellent home performances by the Strevs/Bristow team and by their team against Weymouth just after Ben's departure. I worried things might go downhill from there. Now it seems with some justification. There have been a couple of recent signings which seem baffling to me - no names as I don't want to ever undermine any of our individual players - they get enough stick. There were still some excellent individual endeavours throughout the team last night but the balance is not there. We need another left sided player. We need more pace. We need players with a change of pace. We need some midfield guile to fill the void that Danny Hollands is leaving as he eases into retirement mode. We still have some great strengths. Amongst those, the player I did enjoy watching practising his craft last night was Cav Miley - how on earth was he dropped for the poor show at Altrincham? (I wasn't there but had an eye witness report back). Oh and can I mention that referee last night? Did anyone count the double figures their number three reached with his aggressive fouling without getting any more than a friendly word from the official in the middle? I will stop now on that referee subject as I have to watch my blood pressure.

I actually fell asleep listening to this on solent, it's only the second game I've missed this session but from what I did hear Ian Wilding summed it up for me when he said, "Do you thing we could count side netting as a shot on target" 😂 I've been following Eastleigh for over ten years now and this has been the most frustrating of them all. I have said on a few occasions now that decision are being made from another influence. I lay no blame on Kenny or Tom because I believe thay have the best interest for our club. As we speak the club must be planing for next season by the way Lee B is talking about most of the players being out of contract soon, so don't be surprised to see this season fall away. Some players will be playing to stay and others will already be making arrangements to move, that's how football works. one thing I do hope for, is the ethos Ben and Jason has brought to the club remains in place because I have been impressed with some of the young talent comeing through. Please don't let us go back to the old journeyman days.

IN reply to hantslondoner it is true that the home form has been better than the away form, but it can also be mentioned that four of the away games were against teams in the bottom ten and two against teams in the bottom three. Since Lee Bradbury took over we have scored three or more goals every other league game, although it will be a tall order to maintain this record today. However it is certainly not unknown for Eastleigh teams to achieve results against the odds.
