What do we think?
1) Most recently the last home game of 2020/2021 when fans came back and we won 1-0 with that injury time winner. A really great day & we looked set for the playoffs
2) The week in 2019 when we went to Wrexham and Salford in the playoffs. We were ahead in the penalties, and so close to Wembley. What might have been.
3) Going back to 2015, an epic FA cup tie at Crewe, our first ever giant killing. We won through a 2nd half penalty, scored by the man himself, Ben Strevens.

All three mentioned above are probably my best memories of Strevs, too. But I always appreciated his complete honesty during, especially post match, interviews. You could tell he was really hurting from the defeat at Dover last night.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I do not think that Ben Strevens was at Eastleigh at the time of the F A Cup match at Swindon which was during the managerial reign of Ronnie Moore.
Actually what I think Ben Strevens should be remembered for is coming to the club as a 33 year old player and in his first two seasons being virtually an ever present and an integral part of the team that won promotion to the National League and reached the playoffs the following season. The following season he missed a few more games, but that was partly due to receiving a suspension after being sent off following an altercation with Jon Parkin (which was his second red card of the season). However he played his part in helping the club finish 7th that season, which under current rules would have earned a playoff place, but then resulted in losing out on the final day of the season.
After that he concentrated more on the management side of things, but it is perhaps worth pointing out that in the two seasons before he took over as manager the club finished in the lower half of the table with lots of comings and goings and I think that things have stabilised since then. It is hoped that whoever takes over can build on what has been achieved and take the club forward.

You are correct, I meant Crewe and with it the joy of the giant killing win.
