8 conference teams already out of this competition. Feels like a really good chance to go a long way in it

5-0 and the front two contributed zilch for 90 minutes. Certainly do not look a potential pairing in a league game.

Enfield TOWN. Enfield play in the Essex Senior League and are the heirs of the great Enfield side of the 1970s/80s. But Town, a supporters-founded club, are higher in the pyramid. Whatever.... I thought they were disappointing today (good support, though - Twitter confirms a weakened team), and we did well enough after the breakthrough after 35 mins. I thought Hare's goal was really excellent, but obviously Hesketh took the plaudits with the hat-trick, all excellently taken. But, as said above, no goals from the forward pair, who didn't seem to gel well together. Would indeed be nice to take this competition seriously and do well in it for a change. We had a pretty full-strength team out today.

No house today. Injured, or did we decide not to play him?

Spoke to an Enfield director after the match. Was told that Enfield had 5 players test positive for Covid and couldn’t travel. They still put out a team today and I applaud them for that. In their league their record is very close to Folkstone Invicta who gave us a bloody good run for the money! On another day things might have been much different. Yes we had a good win today and scored some great goals. But full credit to Enfield, I wish them all the best for the rest of the season! Full credit to Strevs for fielding a strong team. I know I’m not alone in hoping we give this competition a good go as it remains our best chance of our team playing at Wembley,. Spitfires at Wembley….. let’s dream the dream!!

I think that Ben House was injured. I believe that ourselves and Wrexham were the only two teams that scored five goals in the F A Trophy this weekend.
I think football is a team game and I said at the end of last season and I believe this is something the manager also agreed with that we needed more goals from midfield and so today was not a bad answer to that.

Yes, but not to the detriment of the contribution of the forwards!
In the last three games I've also felt that Tom Whelan hasn't been in great form, and his distribution is so important to the forward line, so maybe that's one reason?
Anyway, the players need a break over Christmas as much as we do, so hopefully the week will do them good!

Highlights here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=wB5UPk4HkUw5th goal looks to have a touch of a OG about it. But seems its been given to Hesketh. I don't think Enfields keeper will be complaining about that.
