There have been critiques on here of the players (fairly or unfairly, everyone has a right to an opinion), but surely the performance of the day was Dan Barnes and the pitch. Because of Dan’s team’s efforts (and the new pitch) we were able to thoroughly enjoy a decent game of football. I can remember when BT were last here, for the game against Hartlepool, when there were similar weather conditions. I’m sure that that game only started because there were television cameras there, and that dismal affair had to be abandoned at half time. People behind the scenes do not always get the recognition they deserve. My thanks go out to Dan and all the ground staff who made this game possible.

Yep totally agree, I remember being at the ground 8am for the Hartlepool game to help on the pitch. No phone call yesterday for help. So nice lie in and time spent with the grandkids instead. Dan and Steve have done a great job. Last season we only lost that game v Hartlepool. The work put in to get games on was staggering. Lots of 8am starts. When you work all morning on the pitch and you win. It gives you a good feeling.
Im gonna miss forking about on the pitch, but not the early starts Well done Dan and Steve

Pitch certainly held up very well indeed. Aldershots home game was abondoned due to the weather.
Well done to Dan and the rest of the team.
It looks *fingers crossed* like the work this summer has made a real difference so well done to the club in applying for the football foundation grant and making this happen.
