The clubs status means the youth team do not commence in the FA Youth Cup competition until the second qualifying ground. That is due in the week commencing 27th September. The draw gives us an away tie, but no coach needed as the hosts will be AFC Stoneham.
Stoneham have played two rounds to reach this stage beating Horndean 6-1 at home in the preliminary round and winning 7-1 at Hamworthy in the first qualifying round.
The completion is under 18 so will feature mainly the second year academy side. So far in the league this season they have beaten Dorking Wanderers 16-1 and Walton Casuals 9-0 and, unsurprisingly, currently sit top of the National League Under 19 Youth Alliance Division E. As they play their home fixtures at the Stoneham Lane complex they should certainly 'feel at home' for this away tie.
Other local ties in the second qualifying round are Wimborne v Weymouth Gosport v Poole Aldershot v Basingstoke Alton v Winchester City

Beware you possibly need to sign up for a QR code to enter. I remember going to see my grandson play when it first opened. The sign up was a pain to do as i had a not very good phone. Couple of weeks later new phone = new QR code. So much easier less than a minute to do.

All Wessex League games were played Tuesday but Gosport v Wimborne off on Weds because of fuel shortage.
Perhaps we will have problems getting team to Stoneham Lane Complex on Friday night.
Joking apart I noticed Bognor v Leatherhead in the Isthmian League was off because of fuel problems on Tues but Bognor Youth have to travel to Leatherhead in the FA Youth Cup on Thursday. They indicate that if they fail to travel they will be kicked out of the cup.

I have been saying it for a couple of years now, watching star performances for both Sholing in the Souther League and Eastleigh Academy, Joe Adams is going to be a big, big name in football in the years to come.
Anyone who was there last night will now know exactly why the blogger 'Those White Lines' referred to him as 'the Muhammad Ali' of football after his performance, and wonder strike, for Sholing at Gosport in Hampshire Senior Cup last week.
We saw plenty more of that at Stoneham yesterday.

I saw that goal at Gosport, not bad! As you say, looks a good prospect, and experience at Sholing will do him good.

With the number of players in the academy from 1st year, 2nd year scholars and EDS how many since the academy's inception have made it to becoming a first team regular or been sold on? In essence what's the academy's success rate?
