So, Eastleigh have signed yet another defender. Who said? "Attacj is the best form of defence. " was it Bill Shankly? Whoever, why have Eastleigh got in another defender? Two strikers are the order. Eastleigh will struggle this year.

Last season the statistics suggest that Eastleig's greatest problem was clearly scoring goals, but having watched the Kings Lynn match I am not sure if this is necessarily the case this season.
It does seem though that with Ryan Hill seemingly playing a more attacking role this season we now have four forwards signed on and as I have said previously a couple of the signings have been made to increase the goalscoring potential of the team from midfield. I think that Vincent Harper the new signing has been bought as cover for Michael Kelly as I am not sure whether we have another left back in the squad. Personally I am not sure how this season will pan out, as half of the players are new from last season and a lot may depend on how the team bonds together during the course of the season.
Saying that attack is the best form of defence is often a good form of defence is often a good way of looking at things, but I think it is often not easy to get the balance between attack and defence. Over the years I have seen several teams playing against an Eastleigh team with defensive frailties get men behind the ball in numbers in defence, because they know that when they do break out of defence they can exploit the weakness at the back.
