While pre-season friendlies are all about getting fit and ready for the season proper is anybody else concerned about the goal ratio we are getting? We are playing teams at a lower level and the goals are hardly going in. This was the problem last season, great football being played but its goals that count. We're not a bottom three side so relegation is not an issue I would hope, but goals puts points on the board and the talk is of being top 8 this season, so lets hope the football brings the rewards of goals, that's my concern at the moment.

Yes he has, but that is not what I asked, how many games have we played against lower level and scored more than one goal? Early days of course but possibly a concern.

3 of our first 4 games are at home, if we can hit the ground running who knows

Talk of top 8? Don't be silly. The board have no money and fanny around making fake spitfire badges calling it a new dawn. The pre-season is under whelming because the squad being formed has no football league pedigree. Survival at national league level is all I hope for and that there is still a club in 2021. Sadly the Macclesfield story will not be the last.

I'm sure somewhere Ben said he thought we'd be in with a shout of the play offs this season, which is top 7, so its reasonable then to feel top 8 is the aim is it not? I'm a little concerned about goals, but as Callum points out, home in 3 games out of the first 4, get a good start, confidence builds, and as he says, who knows where it will lead. Notts County will be the favourites I imagine, along with Barnet, other than that it could be wide open. We play good football, if we start hitting the onion bag regularly I for one will start to believe we can be a top 8 team.

yeah agreed with that. top 8 is certainly doable. lets not forget season before last we were within a kick of wembley. last season was a bit of a strange one, but safe midtable at the end of the day. see no reason we can't be challenging this season
