Hello All, I am writing this message with sad news that my father, John Squibb passed away on the 15th of August after a long battle with cancer. He's been a season ticket holder at Eastleigh for many years and sits in the main stand behind the dugout. I know he knew a few of you from match days and he used to read this forum a lot (but not post) Here is a picture posted on Eastleigh FC's twitter when he was the first to collect his season ticket for the 2015/16 season: Funeral service in celebration of John's life will take place at Wessex Vale Crematorium on Thursday 27th August 12:15pm all welcomed outside. Family flowers only but donations if desired to Countess Mountbatten Hospice Charity

So sorry to hear this Richard. Your dad was well loved by many. Thoughts are with you all at this terrible time.

Sorry to hear the news Richard. We always used to have a chat and he always took interest in The Fantasy Spitfires football competition I used to run but he never won. He also donated prizes for the Christmas raffle also when I was Chairman of The Spitfires Supporters Club. Sad times Richard, one of the nicest supporters I have come across. All being well we will be there on Thursday. R.I.P. John Arthur and Christine

Very sorry to learn this news. I didn't know John very well but we always said hello & had a quick chat when we saw each other at games. Always a well manered gentleman.

John was a great man whose pragmatism I really appreciated. I often saw him at supporters club meetings and on a few occasions he gave me a lift home. I also met one of his daughters at a match (may have been Bolton) and I still remember some of the conversations I had with him.

What a lovely service today Richard. It painted such fond memories for you all and I'm glad we were given a glimpse of his life outside of Eastleigh FC. We had a chuckle when the Brentford game was mentioned, but not the scoreline.
Our thoughts are with you all.

Good that members of the club could attend the funeral. I attended John Joslin's funeral and both him and John Squibb were very good servants of the club. I might have considered going, if I had known in advance and had been able to book time off work.

Hi All,
Thanks for all your kind words. I hope to attend a few games (when we are allowed to again!) so hopefully will see some of you there.
Stay Safe
Richard
