Not unexpected, TBH. Solihull have been doing very well, overachieving in many people's eyes. Just as well our players have a two week break now before Sutton Utd on 19th.

The fact that a 4-1 defeat against a team who in their last 11 games, prior to today had a record of 3-4-4, tells you what we think of the current Eastleigh team, to be fair I thought we might lose, but I didn't think it would be 4-1. I am not sure where Solihull will finish up this season, but we should certainly be competitive against them, and looking at the result I am guessing we were not.
TBH we should expect better than this, recent performances, bar Harrogate, have simply not been good enough.

Maybe we fans would prefer wins at home rather than away. I would. Two poor away games of late, but unexpected wins v Harrogate followed by another v H&W ain't bad. Still tenth, a lot better than we thought at the beginning of the season. No reason for any doom and gloom.

Dont beat around the bush , that was yet another thumping and totally unexceptable , it goes to show how one person makes the rest look good (Max) !

Strange that as our home form has improved, our away form has dipped. Though I guess not that odd. Now 5 without a win on the road & 6 unbeaten at home. I doubt many would have tipped Solihull pre season, but they certainly look a good bet for the playoffs currently.

I do not why people say with complete assurance that the recent goals that have been conceded have been down to Max leaving. I think it is fair to say that Michael Green is the only really specialist left back in the squad. In the 360 minutes (ignoring any added on time) that have been played since Max left then 9 of the 10 goals conceded in that time have been during the 272 minutes that Michael has not been on the field.
Sometimes the number of goals a goalkeeper concedes is not necessarily a reflection of their ability. Southampton once scored nine goals against a decent Wolves team and then signed the Wolves goalkeeper soon afterwards.
I did try and check on the internet to see whether unexceptable is a word in the English Language that I had not yet heard of.

Also they held Blackpool to two draws in the FA Cup recently and only lost on penalties. Also they won 2-1 at the Silverlake on the first day of the season. They really are punching above their weight this season on quite a small fanbase, Maybe Tim Flowers is a future star manager in the making? TBH we should expect better than this, recent performances, bar Harrogate, have simply not been good enough. *** as I keep saying, I'm sure we won't get in the playoffs. To lose to the 4th place team is no surprise, although as you say the size of the defeat is disappointing. With no Cup games to look forward to, I suspect the rest of the season will be littered with days like this.... only hope is we can raise our game, especially at home, to keep the fans interested for next season, and to build a good squad based on the players that are going to stay. A lot of the teams we have to play at the Silverlake for the rest of this season are nearer the bottom of the table, so I'd hope that would happen.
Very interesting point by unknownquantity about the left back position. I wouldn't say Mr.Green has been in vintage form again this season but he's badly missed (by fans too) when he's not there - putting a central defender in at full-back is never something I've particularly understood - apart from the fact they defend, the requirements are often different nowadays, especially with a wing-back formation.
