We never seem to have one player who has an off day. Its always the whole team. Goals against is an issue. This goalkeeper is not the presence that Max was. He doesn't command from the back. At Solihull he wouldn't kick with his left foot thereby making poor clearances into the stand in our own half. The solihull team are tall and I think this intimidated him and he didn't come for crosses. Certainly he didnt do well with the 4th goal. I'm not blaming him for the loss. The defence were shocking and the midfield went awol. there were a number of heated disputes between Joey Jones, Cav and Yeates. They just didn't gel. This is the 2nd time when we've been losing at half time when we've been playing poorly where substitutions haven't happened until well into the 2nd half. We have nothing to lose by putting on players with pace. We seem to stick with Willow but overall i don't think he has made much of an impression. Bringing Zeb on late in the game did make a difference up front. He wins headers and has pace. I'd rather start with him and bring Willow on as a substitute.I'd also like to see Ollie more regularly played. Against big defenders he can make a difference if adequately supported. Well played Solihull- you had a plan which you kept to, you worked as a team and took your chances well.
