Despite their poor judgement for managerI will be a bit split this Saturday as my 90yr old mum is a Spireite from Chesterfield!! One thing I did not ever expect was for our Spitfire boys to be welcoming them to the Silverlake for a league match😳
I think this will be something of a grudge match. MA will feel he has a point to prove and will be desperate to win the game, he will also try to influence the officials as he always does, and BS will be keen to show he is not going to be pushed around, so expect some fireworks! I think the key to winning the game is calm heads, good solid organisation and patience. No reason to fear Chesterfield, currently they have a big name, but little else. I'm going 1-0 Eastleigh.
With Tom Denton up front at 6 foot 8 inches ( scored hat trick in mid week FA cup win over Billericay) and Sam Muggleton likely to come of the subs bench with his prodigious throws I think we know what we are going to get from Chesterfield.
I was one of the 48 die hards at Barrow last week. Although they never troubled us to their credit they tried all game to pass the ball on the floor but this weekend our defenders will be in for a real aerial battle.
With a physical game the role of the referee could be very important. The appointed official is Carl Brook who is one of the most experienced referees in NL (most are in their first season at this level). Although he is not averse to flashing cards in my view he is one of the strongest officials in our league and it will be very interesting to see what happens if MA throws a wobbly!
