I think we'll lose easily today. I don't normally say that.
They're one of my tips for top 5 (very strong squad and manager), we have lots of injuries.... even if we work hard, they'll work harder.
Happy to be proven wrong :-)

Today will be a a game where we can evaluate where we are with a small squad and see how others step up when we have to accomadate several injuries. The amount of games is tough but every team in same boat.I can understand AH frustration but really it's down to him and backroom staff to manage that. I believe this game will be a draw.If Beano starts I just want him to attack and be all over there defence let them concentrate on him and this will provide space which others can benefit from. Let's stay positive people.

Only 3 subs, and they’re all young lads. Tough one this, but you never know.

With this joke of a ref as well it’s not looking promising ....

With this joke of a ref as well it’s not looking promising .... i heard someone say he was being assessed today. if that is the case i hope they assessed him as unfit to referee. Terrible. Considering the side were hamstrung from both injuries and poor officials I thought they gave it a good go second half and maybe deserved a point. Coulson's miss should have put it to bed but they kept going. i thought that the young lad Dennett did well when he came on for his debut. That was a positive in disappointing afternoon. This team will do nothing in the league this season, I just hope we get a decent cup run and generate funds to help the team challenge in the future.

As I said earlier, I'm happy to be proven wrong.
And I was today: a heroic performance by every Eastleigh player in the face of the worst refereeing performance I've seen in years.
Quite apart from the two yellows for Wynter (the first one, he had his back to the keeper so couldn't have known he was there, much less trip him - the second one was a normal trip which happened several times in the game with no yellow given) there were several other awful decisions, and I'd like to see our goal from the free-kick at the near post in the first half again too, because it didn't look offside to me (that was the linesman's decision). Like the Premiership, he should be removed from the NL referee's list and made to referee in lower-level games until he is judged fit to ref again.
Before the sending off, it was the best team performance I'd seem this season, competing all over the park and looking dangerous all game, Superb ball from Greener for Beano's shot to come back off the bar, for example. In the second half we had a few more chances and with a bit more luck could have got a draw which we would have deserved. McCallum was great throughout although I thought he was risking a second yellow at times.
I think Ebbsfleet were genuinely surprised at the way we came at them, even with ten men, but they still looked a decent side, although they overplayed it when within sight of our goal. Also nice of Luke Coulson to keep his old club in the game by missing a few chances one-on-one.

I'm not one to normally criticise referees, but as we all could see that one was terrible. He'd seen before the game we had a poor disciplinary record and resolved to make it worse, a self fulfilling prophesy. Full of his own self importance.
With all our injuries, playing with 10 men for two thirds of the game and up against 12 from Ebbsfleet inc. the ref, we really did put up a terrific performance today. With a bit of luck we'd have drawn & a bit more have won. With a fully fit squad, we'd have beaten them easily as I thought they looked very tired. Great to see Ollie given a good run out and he did well. Just a pity that it looks like OG could be out for a few weeks, seeing him after the game. So, very proud of the performance by the whole team today, we were very unlucky to lose.
Still, one attention seeking, so called supporter/fan will be happy with the result even though he was way off mark with the score.

I started watching football with my grandad in 1957. In the last 62 seasons I am hard put to recall a poorer referee. There was little to choose between the 2 sides except McMahon had clearly briefed his side what to expect from Mr Wood and how to gain advantage by CHEATING. The yellows and a red came entirely from this cynical approach and Mr Wood was too poor a referee to notice that he was being suckered time and time by the visitors.
Great to see such hard work from all of the Eastleigh 12 - Special mention to Beano for 92 mins of 100% effort. Baptism of fire for Ollie Dennett who got better as time passed and 90 minutes of time travel goalkeeping from Mr Flitney - best in years.

For the record, in June I stated Salford were my tip to win the title, and Ebbsfleet to win the PO title. I also thought 4-1 would be about right given injuries and that Ebbsfleet are a classy team, plus McCallum would score. We're NOT going to win every game Martin, you only have to take a peek at the prediction league on the Ramblers forum to see MANY Eastleigh supporters realise that and decide they will lose or draw games.
It is clear you keep singling me out for your childish pathetic comments to try to goad me Martin, it won't work. We are all entitled to our opinions and just because you don't accept mine, which is fair enough, did you really have to say I am attention seeking? Do you think many fans will believe we will get a win at Harrogate on Saturday? Will you tell all those that predict a defeat are attention seekers? You ought to start growing up Martin, a forum is for OPINIONS.

I can't remember the last home performance which was better than this. Having been booked, I thought the challenge for the second yellow was daft. That apart I thought we very good. We played good football, there was pace, intelligence and fight. I will never criticise an Eastleigh football team who give their all, so well done all. Keep this up and we will have no problems this season.
