Hopefully will clarify the Managers position with a contract in short time as well, last thing we need is to lose AH now.

Brilliant AH signs 1 year contract....now hopefully RH did not get players retained on new ones when news of SD leaving. Means AH can now carry out those surprises he spoke about in mid April. Reckon on odds for Eastleigh to win title might drop from 33/1 to about 14/1 on todayβs news.ππππππππππβ€οΈππππ

Wasnβt RH a scout of some sorts at Aston Villa before he came to us? I imagine heβll step into a similar role with sunderland then?

Eastleigh at 14/1 for the title. I don't think so. 50/1 more like!

Hopefully a breath of fresh air now...
With RH gone AH can call the shots.. Let's hope he gives youth a chance, something we have lacked is legs in the team for a few years now...
We have the likes of Stacky, Reda, Cresswell, Hollands, Zebroski who have vast experience lets hope we see a few more younger signings who will be hungry, want to play and impress. Despite Cav Miley having a dip in form towards the end of the season (IMO) i thought he did very well and will be a very good player for us.
I'd cash out on a top 12 finish & decent cup run in either the FA Cup / Trophy.

Well that (Richard Hill's move to Sunderland) is something I did expect, as mentioned in my 29th April post on the "Eastleigh FC Up For Sale" thread. Re the other items which I covered in that post:- 1. I am glad to see that Andy Hessenthaler (and Ben Strevens also) now has a contract with the club for the first time. If he does produce a positive run of results during the first half of the season I would hope he would be pushing for that to be extended beyond a year - I think the initial contract is being reported to be for one year. 2. I think it has since been mentioned by someone on here that Stewart bought out the Ten Acre group which owned the ground as a separate transaction from his previous takeover of the club. That certainly corresponds with my recollection of events at the time. I haven't seen any report of him disposing of the ground so am guessing that his ownership of the ground remains unchanged. I'm not sure what happens to the revenue generated from the ground including car parking, catering and ground sponsorship, though I would guess that there will be some avenue to allow the club to benefit from that. 3. With the recent announcement of the retained list of players it seems that those long term contracts from the MA era might remain a millstone around the club's neck, irrespective of the "surprises for some" mentioned by AH recently. 4. The future of the heavily subsidised away travel which we have benefited from under Stewart's stewardship is not yet known but now that we can see that it is effectively Stewart's established management team (can we call it a management buy out?) taking over the club I am more optimistic about that than I would have been had the club been transferred to totally new new owners. Especially so as I think Stewart has said that he has made provision for the subsidised travel to be continued. 5. And it does seem that my long shot on Chris Coleman was way out now that Mr Hessenthaler has his tenure officially ratified. Since that April post and with all that has passed and become known since then, we can now hopefully see some positive player recruitment activity in the next couple of months. It will be interesting to see how the new regime gets on with building the new side we need. We can only wish them good luck.

Richard Hill gave us 2 1/2 pretty incredible seasons from Jan 2013 to May 2015. In 2 1/2 years we went from 2nd bottom in the conference south to coming 4th in the conference national! (our highest ever finish of course). He also took us to the 2nd round of the FA cup for the first time in our history as well as the quarter-finals of the Trophy.
Its a shame that his second spell didn't work out so well & obviously has tarnished his reputation in the eyes of many Eastleigh fans.
Anyway I guess we was always "Stewart Donald's man" so no big surprise he has gone. This time a return looks unlikely.
So farewell Richard Hill & best of luck for the future.

I have not always found Richard Hill the easiest person to deal with in personal dealings, but I respect his commitment to the club and without him it is doubtful whether fans of the club would be watching National League football at a relatively low price.
I also think that while not of all the season's signings came off, he did well to take gambles on Chris Zebroski and Ben Williamson. Chris has been one of the better players and Ben has scored more goals than his previous record indicated he would.
I could personally see the value of having a Director of Football to deal with agents, help any players that may be relocating and deal with non-footballing issues relating to the players, so leaving the managers to concentrate on the training and football. I also believe that Stewart may have helped Richard in this respect, when RH was the manager.
