Eastleigh FC are pleased to confirm details of the ownership changes due to outgoing Chairman Stewart Donald’s purchase of Sunderland AFC. The club is now in possession of the relevant Football Association ownership and directors’ test approvals for: Kenny Amor, Tom Coffey and Joanne Sprigg. We are, therefore, now able to confirm that an agreement has been made for the above trio and current Chief Executive Officer Mark Jewell to purchase a controlling interest of the football club from Stewart Donald and his family.
Joanne Sprigg will join the company as Financial Director and Company Secretary, she has for many years operated as the Financial Manager of the club. Tom Coffey will take up the role of Operations Director with Kenny Amor (current General Manager) taking over the role of Chief Executive Officer from Mark Jewell. Mark will be replacing Stewart Donald as club Chairman.
The new owners are due to be formally introduced to the National League’s executive board during the National Conference at the Celtic Manor on Saturday 9th June. However, they have immediately taken control of the day to day running of the club.
We appreciate the fans’ patience during this transition period as we understand you have been eager for updates surrounding the future of the club. Further updates regarding club developments will follow when we are in a position to disclose the relevant information.

With a Financial Director (Joanne Scripps) and a Chief Executive Officer (Kenny Amor) why have a DoF as well? It’s money wasted on the budget when the club football manager can simply go to Kenny and Joanne about signing players or releasing them. Does that make sense?

Have taken no time at all to remove the director of football role!! Probably about right. I think SD made that for RH so he could stay and work with the club. I fully expect RH to join Sunderland now as a DOF or a scout like he was at Villa

I for one am over the moon that he is no longer at the club as I did not like the man or his manner.

I was going to write about the benefits a conduit between the manager and the board could bring in terms of organising stuff to with the team, helping sort "football business" like contracts etc and generally being one of the management team helping do all the stuff that needs to be done at a football club. I know a lot of people dislike the term "director of football" but I do think it is quite an open ended job title and doesn't have to mean anything specifically.
Guess its a bit redundant now!

I think that the majority of the Directors other than Mar, Kenny, Joanne and Tom were at the club in their Conference South days. It seems that funding is in place for this season, but I think the question is to what extent the new Directors are able to fund the club next season or seasons to club. If they are not able to do so they may have to look at bringing other people to help in this regard. However should they need to do this they at least do not have to resolve this immediately.
I fail to see though that the revenue from our restaurants and bars make the club self sufficient, although I expect they may play a part in allowing cheaper season tickets and away travel.
