Having played only 1 game plus 2 sub appearances since leaving us has been transfer listed by Port Vale
In my view would be excellent signing. Young and in his spell with Spitfires showed great composure and his commitment was such that he was made captain for a number of games.
Because of number of players who are still under contract Hessy is clearly limited in extent to which he can change squad but if we could get Callum back would be great start.

Perfectly illustrates the potential problems in leaving us for a "bigger" club. Most players who are any good would do better staying the whole season and being consistently good. I would imagine he would be happy to come back.

Not sure he left us for a bigger club, here was here on loan and if we didn't offer him a contract why would he not go somewhere that would? Would be great to have him back on a permanent basis, he certainly looked the part when he played and given that, it is a bit odd that neither Lincoln or Port Vale want him, guess they must both be well stocked in that department. Get him signed...................oh!!!!

As I mentioned several times last season, I thought Callum Howe was probably our best defender. Certainly he and Andrew Boyce were our best central defensive partnership. So if we've still got Boycey.... he certainly brought the best out of him.
Also he was a good captain, and now Sam Togwell's gone he'd be good doing that too.
Don't know what the chances are of him coming back, though.

Signed for Harrogate (Town?)
Good luck to him. A few reasons he didn't sign for us:- 1. EFC didn't want him 2. He's based up north & didn't want to move down south. 3. Whilst he was certainly el capitano material, he's not a great defender, made lots of costly errors when with us. 4. Plenty more fish in the sea.

I know you are not a fan of CH Martin but how do you know about points 1 and 2 above. Most of our defenders made costly errors so he was no different and i personally thought his captain material and desire made up for the errors. I hope there are plenty more fish in the sea.

There are plenty more fish in the sea, but do we have enough of the right sort of rods/nets to catch them!

Ida been quite happy if he had joined us, but the comments on here & especially FB have exaggerated how good he was, I feel.

Fair enough Martin - he’s not coming to us so I’m off to watch Fulham earn £160 million 🤞
