Unfortunately not about the future stadium development yet but one which will make more money for the club. So it’s great to see, from a financial point of view, the club making further improvements to the ground, plus added access to the ground, maybe needed for increase in cars and supporters? looking forward to seeing the p,and for the next phase on the stadium too. All can be found here, search application 6618552, see plans in ‘documents’ section under ‘plans’. planning.eastleigh.gov.uk/s/public-register

"following removal of the grass pitch" Great... Let's hope that doesn't turn out to be a barrel of laughs again 😂😂

The added access seems to be the one that was put in over a year ago for pedestrians coming up the (closed) lane from the Concorde Club end - hence the "retrospective" nature of the application.

Yeah I did see that in the plans after I posted. That’s been there since the start of the season right? Maybe the end of last season thinking about it. The parking brings in a lot of money to the club, so not spaces can only be a good thing.

Heard rumours of a new roundabout going in a year or two back?

I've heard a rumour that the part of Stoneham Lane which is closed on match days for safe walking is going to be closed to transport from the bend to the traffic lights by the hotel car park completely. The logic seems to be that people coming off the new housing development for Swaythling, Portswood, Southampton ect ect will go down Stoneham Lane to Bassett Green Avenue and anyone coming to Eastleigh take Stoneham Way. You can't turn right at the traffic lights into Stoneham Way and the only way to get on it is to drive back up to the mini roundabout at the top of Chestnut Ave. So from that point of view, the rumour does make sense. Also heard when the new housing development is open to transport the Number 2 buses will run through this estate from Nightingale Ave/Chestnut Ave Junction down to the church before resuming the normal route. Obviously to get to the ground, you will still require to come in Bassett Green end or come through a main road on the new housing estate....all very interesting rumours!!!!

I think the new housing development is also a reason why Stu is so keen to build the stadium up to where he wants it ASAP. Reason being that at the moment the only places with local interest who can complain about the plans are the concord club (who I highly doubt would oppose plans due to extra revenue the club makes them through match day parking and use of their bar) and the offices next door who are generally closed on evenings and Saturdays.
When the new housing development is finished there could be a lot of residents complaining and opposing new plans for the ground, hence the need to get it done within the next couple of years. I’m looking forward to seeing the next set of plans released for the ground. I believe they are to change the mackoy with facilities underneath, and a corner between that and the new stand, and then extend between the ‘blue stand’ and the new clubhouse.

Will also be interesting to see the next phase of the ground alterations, there was the rumour of the Mackoy being re jigged into a terrace and the extended blue stand being given the same extension towards the clubhouse end, that would turn that side into a really smart stand. Know there is always ongoing improvements so will be good to watch during the summer. The pitch hopefully will now bond even further and have much needed rest, looks good by the way. An issue that definitely needs addressing and am sure is on Stewart’s to do list is the floodlights, I just think they need upgrading as the ball tends to disappear from goal kicks at evening games, am sure the matter is in hand and hopefully tweaks will happen to improve them. Hope everyone enjoys a good summer, cricket mode soon but an eye on the developments at EFC, before u know it ... friendlies, open day, new kit , then off we go again!!

Also, proposed road layout! Roundabouts galore!! 1) goo.gl/images/1yL7zg2) hgp-architects.co.uk/projects/residential/north-stoneham-park/ (see image plan with housing photos on this page, I cannot post link direct to image for some reason!) from this plan it does seem there will be a new road build in place of the current entrance into stoneham lane. Much better for when coaches of players/fans are arriving. Also for fans wanting to get to the club they won’t have to drive through Bassett and to the ground that way hopefully.

Don’t think any ground improvements this summer Supposed to be finishing off blue stand with corners in each plus putting a new Mackoy stand in I though? I’m sure Stu has said this in recent interviews?

I’m sure Stu has said this in recent interviews? He did also say that work on those projects would be unlikely take place until after the start of next season, hinting that he knew the plans wouldn't be in time for the end of this season which seems to be the case.
