After the excitement of last night I was thinking on my walk out of the ground, that this season hasn't been as bad as some on here and other social media make out, I only go to the home games and pay £120 for my season ticket to watch National League football,
so what should I expect for my 23 games worth?
So far we've had 20 of the 23 games this season and out of those 20 there are 8 that stay in the memory (not quite deteriorated enough in the mind as yet that the others are completely forgotten but they were not ones to remember fondly) I thought that actually that was not a bad return as far as entertainment value goes and if you could pick your games and someone said to you for £120 we'll give you these 8 games, I think that you would probably get the ground mostly full and if it included the other 12 games in the deal a fair few would come along on the back of these 8.
August Tranmere 2-0 Excellent team performance against a strong team who we all knew would be challenging this season
Sept Fylde 2-2 Two evenly matched teams slugging it out, Fylde fans stood in the shed and were excellent value for friendly banter great atomosphere
Oct Gateshead 3-2 Last minute winner after it looked like we had thrown away a 2 goal lead
Nov Maidenhead 2-2 Very similar to last night except the 2 goals in the final 6 minutes got us a draw not a win (plenty had left early)
Dec Bromley 4-4 No comment required
Jan Guiseley 4-2 Loads of goals excitement and frustration
Jan Hartlepool 4-3 Loads of goals excitement and frustration
March Dover 2-1 Looked like another defeat but a good substitution and players kept working to get a late reward
I'm not kidding myself that the season has been dramatic and full of ups and downs but at the start of the season I paid my £120 and think I have got my moneys worth, add in wins against the top 2 and the potential that we may see the title won at The Silverlake (will that be good to see?) it's not been all doom and gloom.
Think the constant pressure that is put on everyone's expectations, that they always deserve the best of everything for every pound they spend, makes people lose sight the big picture and how we fit into it.
