Irrelevant really about the fans. If it’s too early and not worth the 10 hour round trip they won’t go.

The fans are irrelevant to the TV companies, and the leagues who are raking in the cash; but in actual fact the fans are essential to making football the great game it is; everyone would do well to remember that.

The fans will go willk.....as I've mentioned before a number of us made a week-end of it in Barrow last season when it was a 12-15pm kick-off going up Friday and returning Sunday, however a coach still came up Saturday morning such is the dedication of spitfire fans, leaving I believe at 5-30am, and they were in Barrow an hour before kick-off. If you can afford to make a week-end of it in Liverpool it'll be a fantastic week-end, though the kick off time would likely mean going up Friday otherwise its a mad rush to book into your hotel and then get over the Mersey for the game!! Be warned though, if you take a taxi from the Liverpool One area to Tranmere's ground it'll be around the £18 mark each way....fine if there are 5 of you!!!!

Maybe this time someone will check whether it will be possible to watch the game at the club. Last time EFC were on BT Sport, a lot of us had a wasted journey to the Silverlake after someone said on this forum that it would be definitely shown and it turned out that the club knew nothing about it and that the facilities were booked for private functions.

Michael et al, maybe you should watch the highlights show on channel 5 to see most champ, l1 and l2 grounds half empty but yet when I check, the admission prices are between 20-30 quid and they’re not lowering them so you make your own conclusions about the fans position in the game

Fans are essential to all football clubs. Even in Sunday league football, without those willing to do the washing, raising funds, and just encouraging there would be no game. I was actually at QPR today and spoke with Andy Sinton, a wonderful player in his day. I mentioned to him how much I had enjoyed watching him back in the 1980's and 1990's and he replied "you guys are the most important people in football" and he is right, we are. Now it is true that there are many people who forget this, or perhaps they never knew it. Whatever, it is a fact. Fans are key to football. Always have been, always will be.

‘Football fans are the most important people in the world’ hmmm I hope someone reminds you of that the next time you’re in hospital or stuck in a fire....

Who said anything about football fans being the most important people in the world? What I said was "Fans are essential to all football clubs".
Worth bearing in mind though, that many medics and firefighters are also football fans; thus they are also essential to their football clubs.

I believe it was efcspitfires whoever that person maybe who posted about the Wrexham game being on TV.
I think that people who volunteer their services selflessly are the lifeblood of football clubs and that every club needs sponsorship to help them meet their running costs. Players also benefit from good vocal support from fans who pay to watch the team.
Some people might remember Andy Sinton when he was manager of Fleet.

So Michael, just to clarify you’re more important to Eastleigh fc than Stewart Donald?

Willk, do everyone a favour and stop nit picking at every comment, you might think its funny and clever but to be honest you just make yourself look stupid because of it. Why bring up Stewart Donald? I doubt he finds it amusing because Stewart will tell you himself without the fans Eastleigh FC wouldn't exist, and he backs the fans with the season ticket offers, away travel on the coach because he knows the fans are vital to the club and players on match days with their support, so in essence Michael is a fan whom Stewart would consider to be more important to EFC than himself because that's the measure of the man.

Erm except he’s clearly not. So Michael or the average fan is going to renovate the ground, pay the players wages and bankroll expensive signings?? I think not. Certainly in the prem league it’s a fact that with the tv month every club could let the fans in for free, so actually it’s irrelevant whether they’re there or not.
