Shocking. The lack of contact with the players and management the most shocking thing of all.

It's tempting to wonder whether the club is now in breach of contract with their players. If that is the case, it's a tempting scenario for any club who sees an urgent need to strengthen their playing squad. If the owner is failing his obligations then players will be leaving anyway and, if so, the sooner they move the better for them. I know it's hard on the Macclesfield supporters but this is the players' livelihoods and that should be sacrosanct if this league is to have any credibility at all. I know it's easy to say these things from our point of view when we are fortunate to have the owner we have but you have to be realistic. I suspect in reality though that Mr Donald would not want to be seen to be exploiting the situation - unfortunately.

If there is a serious risk of any player not receiving his full wages on time for the rest of the season, he should have no compunction about leaving and we should have no compunction about buying if that is someone who will improve our team. I am not at all worried about taking advantage of the situation and far more worried about the stresses that will be put on the players who are just trying to earn a living.
Macclesfield - get your act together!

Very sorry to hear this - they've been punching above their (financial) weight for some time now, and John Askey's performed miracles with his budget.
As ever, there must be something going on that we don't know about. Hope they can sort it out.
