First Home win since I do not know when ( I did not make the 2-0 over Gateshead ).
Attack wise we looked brilliant, especially Mark Yeates and Zebs seems to be getting better and better. But defensively still a bit weak meaning that, despite the scoreline, I would still make Ross Flitney MoM.
It was good to see Sam Togwell back on the pitch.

I could come up with all sorts of ideas about what we need to add to the team but wouldn't want that to take anything away from the superb job all the players did today. There were quite a few really outstanding performances. The MoM award to Sam Matthews was exactly right but I wouldn't have argued too much if Chris Zebroski had got it. His presence undid Guiseley today. Well done to Ross Flitney having to come in from coaching duties and "hold the fort". I hope Callum Howe is able to stay with us and that the rumours re his imminent return to the Imps are incorrect but we just have to wait and see. As an aside, I did wonder after Andy Boyce went off what would happen if Flits got injured, bearing in mind I think that Boyce is his understudy in the absence of a goalie on the bench. I found myself trying to work out who I would give the gloves to. My pick I think would be Gavin Hoyte though I don't think he would thank me for that.

Also worth mentioning is how much of a difference it made having an experienced and competent referee. There were one or two moments of controversy but he had the match under control at all times. There were though quite a few shouts around me about the first Guiseley goal being offside. Not sure about that as I didn't see the whole picture across our back line. Did anyone get a good view of that?

Gotta agree l thought the referee was excellent even with his peaky blinders hairdo, we need more guys like him in control, and though a few were calling for bookings on the Guiseley players early on, he refrained and kept a fair contest going and they did calm down and start to play football and not our players All in all l think he was the best ref we have had at the Silverlake this, if not the previous season as well

I thought we beat Gateshead 3-2 not 2-0. It has generally been a feature of our home games this season that both teams score.
