First team physio Andy Cook has given his regular update from the treatment room, ahead of our pre-Christmas National League visit to Dagenham & Redbridge.
“The injured lads are in the main recovering well.
It’s been good to see Sam Wood back after a number of weeks sidelined with a groin injury. We took the opportunity to ease him back into playing with a run out in the Hampshire Senior Cup, and he’s subsequently been involved in the last two first-team fixtures, which is great.
Ryan Cresswell and Reda Johnson have both had good weeks, and have done more running drills without any problems. Hopefully, we should see them back in squad training this week.
Ben Williamson is also working well but is potentially ten days to two weeks of a return to full training.
Sam Togwell had completed a couple of training sessions without problems but subsequently suffered a slight tug in his hip flexor. Despite this, he’s settled well and is already back into running drills and doing well.
Michael Green has started a gentle running programme and it’s a case of seeing how he is after increasing the load over a few weeks. This will determine the course of action we then take.
Craig McAllister suffered a medial collateral ligament injury to his knee in the home game against Bromley, which will possibly side-line him for a week or so more. Hopefully, we should see a few of the current list of injured lads back in contention to bolster the squad over the busy festive programme of games.”
