Both defences were awful, the ref was even worse! Where do they get them from? But it was great to see the two big lads up front play well, thought particularly that Zeb had by far his best game for us!!

Obilye came out with Shaw to warm up (run up and down the pitch a few times) before the team did. I'd guess with Wood back he was dropped as he's been covering at LB and our CB partnership seems pretty set with Howe & Boyce
I can understand why you'd say RH doesn't rate him, as he was put on transfer list start of season but then he has played a fair few games since - out of necessity or a change of heart by RH im not sure?

I don`t know if you were at Dagenham last season, but when the second (I think ) goal went in RH took Ayo off, and he didn`t like it. There was quite a spat and Ayo started to walk off to the changing room, but RH called him back and made him sit in the dugout. It hasn`t been good since

Ayo was there as mentioned by bbb. He says he is fit and is training OK. I'm guessing other clubs might not have been bashing our door down to sign him. I was interested to see there were no defenders on the bench. We are used to not having a spare keeper there and I understand the logic of that but having no recognised cover on the bench for the back four, when one of the starting back line is already a midfielder, is a reminder of the imbalance we still have in the squad. When you consider that, plus our reliance on loanees (excellent though they are), it's clear that there is some permanent recruitment that will need doing to be confident of winning games regularly. Other points to note from the subs on the team sheet are that Beano seems to have changed his name to Paul McCallum and, on a plus note, Harvey Read is now available. I don't know what his problem has been but can't recall seeing him play since he signed.

Does that mean Eastleigh broke the rules??? Even if it was a genuine mistake, if McCallum was named as a sub when the team sheet was handed to the officials, we played 4 subs when Matthews came on, and he scored the 4th goal. Just what is the rule on this???

Harvey Read played against Bournemouth Poppies in Hampshire Cup but wasn’t impressed by his performance. He needs game time but apart from Fa Trophy and Hampshire Cup can’t see him getting much.

Just what is the rule on this??? We noticed the double entry for McCallum on the team sheet too - obviously it brought him luck. We must do it again! We listened out when the teams were announced by the stadium announcer to see who was really on the bench instead of McCallum, and they announced it was no 8 Beano. Presumably (hopefully) that was what was on the REAL team sheet handed into the officials. We don't need a spare keeper on the bench - we've got Boycey!

Apparently, he's been out on loan at Hungerford, John.

What a bizarre game, for a neutral that was brilliant!
Some comical defending from both sides however and I think a draw was probably a fair result.
1st goal - Stack could have probably come, striker got between the two defenders
2nd goal - Howe got too tight to Williams who had a burst of pace, great finish but nobody come over to help Howe.
3rd goal - Howe sat off, decent strike to be fair
The 4th goal was the worst for me. RH took off Wood with 8 minutes to go, fair enough he's just come back from injury but that substitution nearly cost us the game. Heslop was flat on his backside for the last 10-15 minutes and changing the back four nearly did us. Again, Boyce didn't come across and double up when he should have done.
Great strike from Sam Matthews with his wrong foot in the area of the pitch he should be playing.

I heard something about him being too "acadamyfied" if that's even a word so I guess the management team didn't feel he was ready for the reality check of the national league! He looked fairly shaky in the poppies game but hopefully will get better when he adjusts to men's football
