Is now the league's second top scorer for a "relegation threatened" club... Taking into consideration how he missed quite a few games in the process! Wouldn't it just top our season off if a club came knocking on the door for him in January! *Sarcasm included* (before one of the forum grumps has a go at me 😉)

Remember BW coming on as a second half sub at AFC Stoneham pre season & thinking as a trialist, he didn't impress & wouldn't be signing for us. Next day he did, his goalscoring record at previous clubs wasn't prolific, but delighted with his form & goals so far. Definitely the 20 goals a season striker we've been wanting for quite a while. Who says RH can't spot a good player?

Yup, would think there may well be other clubs looking at him.
Would certainly imagine we will be very keen to keep him, and I'm sure if we can get a good run together that would help

I wonder if it was RH who spotted Williamson?
Certainly a good signing so far, no question about that.

maybe or maybe not. But if the manager gets stick for a poor signing then they deserve credit for a good one.
player recruitment is down to the manager first and foremost. Well happy with Williamson, looks very good, key to our hopes for this season

One interesting aspect of this was the player's goalscoring record last season, so it was astute to see that the player had the potential to do well.
I would not get carried away too much as there have been previous cases of strikers joining a new club starting off very well and then fading.

He will be celebrating his 29th birthday on Christmas Day, so still a year and a bit away from the 30 mark!

Currently 3rd top scorer in the league. With a good second half to the season he could win the golden boot for the division!?

He is vital to our season. Any significant injury is a major worry.

Come off for Zebroski on 17 mins. Fingers crossed it was only precautionary

From the echo:
"But the Spitfires have suffered a hammer blow down the other end of the pitch with top scorer Ben Williamson looking at another five or six weeks out with hamstring trouble."
