First team physio Andy Cook is back with his news from the treatment room ahead of the weekend’s game with Chester at The Silverlake.
“Obviously, it was very disappointing to lose Ryan Cresswell with a hamstring injury at Macclesfield, but in all honesty, I think everyone was relieved that it wasn’t an issue with his knee.
“We’ll lose him for a few more weeks I’m afraid, but should see him back before too long.
“Following his return to action, Paul McCallum suffered some ongoing pain with the foot injury he sustained earlier in the season and needs a little more rest to allow this to settle. He’s made good progress in the last week and a couple more weeks should see him back in training.
“We are currently waiting for a definitive diagnosis on Michael Green’s ankle problem – hopefully, we will have that soon, and be able to move forward from there.
“Graham Stack is working hard to overcome a calf strain and is making good progress – but Sam Togwell is some way off, and we are getting an opinion from a hip specialist which should help guide the most appropriate course of action.
“Whatever that is, I know Toggs will work hard to get back as soon as he can.
“Ross Stearn is a few days off returning to full training after his ankle injury, although Sam Wood is still a couple of weeks off after suffering a groin strain before the Solihull Moors game. It was good to see Reda Johnson back in action after his hamstring injury at Macclesfield – he had over a week’s training with the squad before that game and almost did a mini preseason with me before returning to full training.”
