At least the weather looks like it is going to be on our side for the next few days :-)

I'm a bit confused.... according to HUFC Twitter the inspection is due 'later today' and Eastleigh have 'contingency plans' in case there's a problem (doesn't say what they are), but this morning Eastleigh have posted about bar arrangements, are pushing hospitality packages (which sound like quite good value), etc. Isn't this a bit premature?

I think the game has to be on; if not we are in a crisis. Weather has been very kind and we could easily move into a period of very wet weather. If the pitch isn't fit for Hereford my thought would be when will it be fit?

My guess is the inspection is more to check the turf had bedded in and is safe. We have to all hope the problem has now been fixed.

If there was a burst pipe and they've now repaired that, why shouldn't this work fix it? Very likely this problem has been there for months and it's only recently they've found the reason behind it.

I think calling a thread about the state of a football pitch the same as a life or death military campaign to free a continent of tyrannical rule is a bit strange.

The D could stand for many things Will ! Decision Day maybe? It's your interpretation that is a bit strange, but we shouldn't be surprised if you bring a bit of 'Doom' and Gloom to the forum

EFC has been well short of goods news of late, so this is of great relief to all connected with the club. Now, all we have to do is beat Hereford on Saturday & draw an EFL club at home in the First Round & things will really be looking up.

Westend, I’d check where the phrase originated from before calling other people strange.

Westend, I’d check where the phrase originated from before calling other people strange. First recorded use is actually September 1918, "The First Army will attack at H-Hour on D-Day with the object of forcing the evacuation of the salient." [Field Order No. 8, First Army, A.E.F.]
