I expect D+R to be in the top 2 come the end of the season, so was pleased with a point. We got our usual poor start, but improved as the game wore on and in the end probably just about deserved a point. I thought Williamson was excellent and maybe MOTM; thought Stack did well again as well. All in a decent afternoon, but that said we have a long way to go if we are to be making strides to be in the top few come April/May.

OK, we were up at half time & their penalty was rather dubious, but I think most would have accepted a draw before the game. Must say Williamson took his first goal very well, similar to how Whitely took his first. Mccullum's left ankle was strapped at the end so looks like he'll be out on Tuesday. Great to see Ayo play well, let's hope there's no more transfer list talk. Sam Matthews needs to start on Tues, he looked a different class to most of our players when he came on.
On a different matter, what was happening with the stewards in the green stand? One or more next to our fans, none controlling the 5 or 6 D&R idiots encroaching on to no-man's land. Should there not be netting or similar over the east side of the no-mans land block to prevent such encroachment?

A fair result given the fact we played most of the second half with an immobile Keeper = Is Ross or Childs ready for a return yet?
Reda out injured after only two games - I hope there is no more talk of Ayo being on the transfer list, we are going to need him!!!!!!!!!!!!

Probably both teams will be satisfied with that result. I thought we were lucky to be 2-1 up at half time and then we tightened up after the break, seemingly looking to see the game out. Their no 10 (Ferrier) spent more time fetching balls for us that had gone out for play, and encouraging us to take the throw/goal kick than he did trying to join in the attack. I actually thought both of their goals were dodgy - Whitely was offside when the through ball was first played, even before it glanced off Togwell's head. Williamson impressed me again - apart from his running and effort, he gambles and gets into good positions. I thought Hollands was good too. Defence was OK - Hoyte was aggressive and wound up Ferrier nicely, as usual Obileye was better going forward - he made two errors - one in the first minute when he didn't jump for a high cross - that could have cost goals. Stack was good apart from his fumble for the goal that was (fortunately) given offside. I was going to ask why we didn't have a keeper on the bench - from other posts it appears we don't have another fit one? With Stack's injury, not sure what we do now. I remember there was some crowd unpleasantness last year too - sorry to hear it happened again this year. This thread from their own forum (it may get deleted soon, it's quite strongly worded) seems to show that they're not happy with some of their own 'fans' too.... www.viewsfromthesieve.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2760&sid=498b97696243e15546ac4e96a7f72bd6

Decent game of football and probably all in all not a bad point.
Strange first half with D&G on top for much of it until we struck twice. D&G always looked dangerous and no suprise they scored and then looked the more likely winner. Of course we had a late flurry in injury time and might have nicked a winner. So could have won, could have lost, draw probably about right.
would be interested to see the 2 pens again, got the impression both were a bit questionable - but I was 100+ yards away!
Re the pitch it looked fairly minor & certainly nothing to seriously compromise the game going ahead (a bit of gamesmanship by Mr Still I think), but obviously going forwards its an obviously an area that may need extra attention to ensure it is in decent order come Jan/Feb.

Disagree about the pitch, Rendel. Well the small corner near the Mackoy anyway. I was fairly close to it & it was clear from the way Dan & Mark were FORKING that area, it is in really poor condition. It is a totally different surface from the rest of the pitch because of what is underneath. The ball doesn't bounce properly on it & it must be different from the rest of the pitch under foot for the players. It was the way the drainage was done earlier in the summer & the rain on Wednesday that caused the problem. And there will be a lot more to come in the autumn & winter. It needs to be sorted sooner rather than later.
