If those 3 clubs finish in the top seven, does that mean the clubs in 8th, 9th and 10th place get into the play-offs?

I doubt it as I would think they could get a grass pitch laid before start of the next season I would guess

So would those clubs be allowed to compete in the playoffs if they finish in the top 7?

Its a good question blueandwhite and one that the answer is not clear on.
Maidstone had a similar issue in the Ryman league in the 13/14 season, they were towards the top end of the league for much of the season and IIRC the Ryman league did not give a clear message as to whether they would be allowed to compete in the playoffs or not. Eventually they finished outside the playoffs and so the question of whether they could compete or not was not answered & the Ryman league swerved the issue.
I suspect that the 3 clubs above would be allowed to compete in the playoffs and then (if they won them) be ordered to replace the pitch during the summer.
We may see, although its probably likely none of those sides will finish in the top 7.

And for anyone wondering Stewart Donald dosen't want a 3G pitch even if the Football League accepts them.
And i'm sure the Football League will approve them at some point.

Incomprehensible that some fans don't know our chairman's name - for those still unclear it's Stewart Donald NOT Stuart Donald.

Maidstone, Sutton and Bromley have gambled that The Football League will in the next few years allow 3G. The National League have jumped the gun in allowing it but obviously this causes problems as those clubs cannot be promoted unless they tear it up and lay down grass again, of which these three clubs have no intention of doing.
It is a rule I believe that clubs in The National Leagues, have to inform the governing body of The National League that they will accept promotion if won, and they have to do so by a deadline of sometime in November 2017.
So clearly in non acceptance by November and one or more of those clubs obtain a PO spot it has to be awarded to the next club in the highest position, therefore Tony is correct, 8th, 9th and 10th could in theory make a PO spot.
I cannot see how The National League could refuse a team finishing 8th, 9th or 10th doing so, otherwise at next summers AGM there will no doubt be a vote on 3G pitches and they will see it voted out by the clubs if they deny teams a PO berth due to some having 3G.
Pitches are improving rapidly in League One and Two now what with the grants available to do so, and I just do not see why The FL will pass 3G at their level.
I don't quite understand why players are signing for those clubs knowing promotion is not obtainable from the start and probably never will be while they have 3G.
Somebody has said they can win promotion on 3G and only go up if the replace it next summer back to grass. He forgets the November acceptance ruling so they could not play in the PO's surely??
