A warm welcome to the Heed army that makes the long journey down, have to say they made us welcome at their place last November. We got a point from the game even though we went in 2-0 up at half time, in the second half they absolutely battered us, particularly the last 25 minutes. Guiseley prevented them winning an eighth game on the trot Tuesday night but no question they are the form team at the moment. Looking forward to this one, will be a nice sunny day by all accounts, big crowd hopefully and an Eastleigh side looking for a fourth win on the bounce. I predict a 2-1 win for us and a cracking game of football.

The other two league games between these teams at the Silverlake were very entertaining.
Gateshead are unbeaten in nine and have risen to a playoff place. They've just signed a striker on loan from Sheffield United. They drew 1-1 at home to in-form Guiseley in the last game.
I'll go for 2-2.

Logically our run will come to an end against a very much on form team, but logically our winning run was never going to start so who the hell knows, fingers crossed the opposition for the next two home games will inspire our team to show what they can do a 2-2 would be a very good way to spend a Saturday afternoon....

I would take a draw, that would be a very good point against a playoff chasing team.

We pretty well controlled the first half; Gateshead hardly got the ball!

Negatives
Game of few chances and we were hanging on a bit for the last 10 minutes.
Positives
For most of the match we more than outplayed, out passed and out fought a very much in form side.
In the great scheme of things, a good display

The first half was ruined by a very strong wind. It was blowing behind us, but didn't help as we over hit the ball. The second half saw the wind drop and a decent game develop. Apart from the last 10 minutes, I felt Gateshead were the more likely, but we came on strong at the end and almost nicked it. Given that was a vital game for them and an end of the season game for us, this speaks well for the management team, who got everyone pumped up. Pleased and impressed.
