Very consistent player! Sad to see him go! He wasn't getting in the starting 11 so why are people moaning? Some fans on here and at the club don't seem to like a change?? He wasn't getting game time!!!!! I wish him all the best Because he deserved to be in the starting XI. Rather have him in the side than Constable, a player who keeps on playing no matter what his performances are like. Role on him getting the inevitable improved deal come the end of the season.

Everybody goes except Constable!!!! Think that now leaves just 5 players left from the squad on the first day of the season...or is it 4? Greener leaves as a legend, one of the all time greats of EFC. We will all miss him bombing down that left wing, jinking pass defenders and getting crosses over. I would have liked to have seen him take direct free kicks around the box with that fearsome left peg of his!! Greener, thanks for all you did, wherever you go you will become a firm fans favourite because you give your all.....EASTLEIGH LEGEND....well deserved accolade.

Greener's departure is a disappointment for many of us supporters who have been following the Spitfires for many years. I think this is probably down to the way he has had to fight for his place for some time now and up until now has won through. I was surprised when we signed Dan Harding. At that time I felt it was a statement that we could sign a player of his unquestionable experience. Hardings signing though was for a position that didn't need improving at that time as Greener was one of our best players. We would have been much better to have spent Hardings wages on another striker. Harding was a decent player for us but I always felt he played well within himself whereas Greener gave us his all and started off this season as our first choice again.
We played a few matches with Greener and Luke in front of him and we looked the best down the left side I have seen since coming to the Silverlake. When Luke left he was not the same player as he was at the start of the season.
We then found ourselves with four players who could play at left back. I have been trying to understand why this is? Garratt was bought in and had a good start at left back but has since been playing in midfield. Muggleton obviously offers us something extra with his throwing but his defending has not been so impressive. Chinua Cole now signed and we hope he can cut the mustard.
I think my sadness as Greener's departure is that despite efforts to find someone better, no manager going back to Hilly has managed it yet. Greener has fought hard for his place and has encapsulated the qualities I admire in a player and I will miss him as I know so will many other supporters.
All the best for the future Greener! I hope you find another club soon and look forward to you playing against us soon. I'm sure our right winger will know he's been in a match when that happens!!

I would just like to add that in time i think we will regret letting Greener go . I have yet to see a better left back in the national league .

I was going to say I think he is the last link with the Conference Side but Ben Strevens also played with us in the conference South - so its the last continuous player to go.
Its sad to lose a player like Michael Green who may still have a few good years ahead for him.
Whether or not it is a wise decision time will tell!
