Since Todd's departure we've gone backwards.

Let's not forget the long term injured players that will, hopefully, be part of the longer term picture and mean we are in a better build position for 17/18 season than first reaction to today gives. Cresswell and Johnson along with Ngala give a great building block as does Young and Taylor added to Togwell in the middle giving a very strong central core three quarters of the way up the field. In my own opinion when you add Green to that and Mandron it is not as bleak as current performance may make us feel.

So many players not fit to wear the Eastleigh shirt. Total overhaul needed this summer starting with James Constable. How he continues to play bang average at best and steal a living is beyond me. Get rid.
I totally agree with you.....but he's gonna be offered a new contract. WHY you might ask!!! MA believes he can get the best out of him that's why!! Five goals in six months tells you all you need to know.

Doubt he will though being an Oxford legend and all that. Jai needs to follow him out the door as well. Saying that it is going to be mighty thin squad next season if we only keep those players earning their wages.
The Woking game was a perfect opportunity to blood in some of the youth players that we have hearing about.

My word there are some negative people on this forum... There isn't a team which can change almost a whole team in the space of only a few months and instantly do well. There have been premier league clubs in recent times that make a few changes to a team and then take a while for the new formation to bond and work. I think it's a positive thing that Martin Allen is making changed to make a team he's comfortable with and confident will get him out of this league, but in a realistic world you're never going to put them all on a pitch and them instantly know each other inside out. Come on lads be realistic here, be more positive and support what Allen is doing rather than being so negative...

I don't think people having a view on their team that isnt all rosy all the time means they are not supporting them. It's a forum if we all said, aren't things great and in 12 months we are going up, there would be even less discussion on here. There is lots to discuss and not all of it seems like it is heading in the right direction yet so lets carry on talking even if some of us are concerned about the building of the team.

I think a lot of comments are made out of frustration - it has been 3 months without a home win so i don't think its unreasonable to expect some passion and commitment from the experienced players we have had since then.

Personally I am glad we are not going up this season because I don't think we are ready and probably won't be the following season. I would far rather see the infrastructure of the club sorted out before we concentrate on the Football League. We have some great foundations in place and a forward thinking chairman. SD won't be around forever to pump in money and write off debts so we need to be self-sustaining. Develop the youth team, scout NL teams for ambitious players that want to move up divisions not move down for the money.
The problem we have now got is, on the field we are worse off than we were 2 seasons ago having spent big money in getting there. No doubt players will leave at the end of season, more will come in and we will be back to "lets give the team time to bed in" ..............a few bad results, sack the manger ...........repeat the process. It is getting too familiar.

I thought that Jai stood out and did ok, he offered something but seemed quite deep. Like to see him behind the front two and threatening more, that's what he's good at.

Jai's exit certainly didn't reflect these thoughts. Thought he'd had a promising season so far and, along with many others, was sad to see him go.
