Seen rumours of both Luton and Bristol Rovers, will be a bit of a blow if he goes, given his contract will be interesting to see what we get for him if he does!

Contract runs out summer 2018.
I hope he stays.

The Bristol Rovers story is taking off! I've heard it from several sources today - I hope they are all wrong.

Looks like he's off. Gutted but it's well deserved for him on a personal note. Top player and we have been lucky to watch him week in and out.

www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/38603739Yes, looks like he is going. Fair play to him and I am sure he will do very well. He has rarely put a foot wrong in an Eastleigh shirt. God knows what the team building strategy is now? There just seems to be a complete dismantling of the team mid-season to start all over again. Coulson next to go? Who knows.

I'm sure this wasn't part of the rebuilding plan and MA would not of wanted Joe to leave, but you can't stand in a players way if he gets a chance to play 2 div's higher. We are a feeder club to the Football League, just like Bristol Rovers are a feeder club to Championship teams, Championship teams are feeder clubs to Prem teams and Prem teams are feeder clubs to the likes of Barca, Real Madrid (and now China!). Thats the cycle of life in football.

The Gashead forum seem to think that Joe was at the Mem today.
If so, you can't blame the lad for wanting to take the opportunity of going back to League One football again.

You're correct in all respects there, USS. A fee will be appropriate, we may never know how much EFC will receive as most clubs are prudent enough to mutually declare it as "undisclosed". Very sensible, imho, but there will be a miriad of guesses as to how much & subsequent demands that money is used to strengthen the team. You could argue we already have JP's replacement in Gavin Hoyte, just unfortunate he is injured at the moment. Have a feeling we may lose other popular players for transfer fees.

Still hope he doesn't go. You never know!
If he does hope we get a good fee.
Presumably would be our record transfer fee ever received?!

We're on the way to losing nearly all our younger players and be left with 30 somethings. If we become a stepping stone for young players to progress to the FL we make it a lot harder for the club to get out of this league. That's one almighty problem for MA and SD to solve as we move forward. If Joe is going, I wish him all the best, he played his heart out for this club and a nice bloke as well.

Sorry to see one of our best players go, but it's a good opportunity for him& you can't stand in the way loft a player bettering himself, especially when we receive a record fee for him (whatever that is?). Thanks for everything and the best of luck for the future, Joe. Many of us will never forget that goal at Bolton.
