The earlier thread preceding the Halifax game got somewhat hijacked and seems to have down the deleted route. In a nutshell we all failed to agree (as usual) with everything from "struggle to reach 1,500" to 3,500 being predicted.
So what do we think about 2,098?
Downside - third lowest gate of the round with only Curzon Ashton and the boycott-hit Blackpool attracting less.
Plus side - nearly twice our number of season ticket holders and only a couple of hundred below our National league attendance average with just 200 or so in the away end.
Me? I'm pleasantly surprised to get over 2,000. No disrespect to Halifax, but I'm sure that even they would agree that they're not the cup's biggest draw. I'm also sure that the 2pm Sunday start didn't help and 3pm on Saturday would have got us close to 2,500.

Think I said 2000 would be a good crowd and was pleasantly surprised that we got that many, like you say not the biggest draw and the goals were on the telly. Would imagine that the club would have been very pleased with that.

2nd agreement. 2000 was a good attendance imo, much better than I predicted. Buoyed by the Martin Allen factor & a number of ex players in attendance, I noticed Macca & Strevs (was that also Craig Stanley with them?), heard Yemi was around too. Any others?

A good solid attendance. To be honest looked quite a few more from I was sat.
