Thought he looked very good at left back against us at the last home game, despite letting Luke in for our first goal. The word on the Sutton forum was that he was likely to sign for an EFL club, but FGR have made a statement of intent to sign him now. Interesting.

I thought he looked really good against us as well especially first half. Does show that the lack of transfer window is going to have a negative effect on certain clubs and the big boys will strengthen as they go!

Surprised Sutton let him go to another club in our league. He certainly played well against us and will make FGR even stronger.

What is missing is whether FGR paid a fee for him. That may well be the case making it a good transaction for the player and SU. Sutton are likely to be top half this season but probably don't have aspirations to get promoted, while FGR certainly don't want to go up through the play-offs. Promotion at any cost, maybe?

Sutton fans forum are talking about a 'substantial' fee - six figures has been mooted, although this may be (very) wishful thinking.
Yes, we could see a few clubs doing this kind of thing throughout the season - especially any club involved in both a cup run and a push for promotion, like ourselves last year. Presumably most clubs near the top will throw the Trophy game as usual, so we're talking FA Cup.
