#1 of 120 things to do in Southampton
Solent Sky Museum showcases the international importance of aviation history in Southampton and Solent area. The Solent region gave birth to the Spitfire, as well as being the home of the Imperial Airways flying boats.
Between 1910 and 1960 local aircraft manufacturers produced an incredible variety of flying machines, from experimental rocket fighters to hovercraft, helicopters and spacecraft.
Come and see over 20 airframes on display from the golden age of aviation, including the Spitfire and the record-breaking Supermarine S6.
Take a guided tour of our giant Sandringham flying boat, and children and adults alike will enjoy the thrills of sitting in our jet fighter cockpits.
In the programme for the game on Saturday against Solihull Moors you will find some vouchers to save pounds on a visit to the Solent Sky Museum. There's a 2 for 1 voucher, and also a family ticket, 2 adults and up to 3 children, for £10, reduced from the normal price of £17.50. Quite a saving. Buy another programme if you need more vouchers.... Also in the programme are some of the results of a photoshoot which took place there recently involving some of our First Team and a Mk24 Spitfire....
Take the short trip into Southampton to see the planes. It's quite fascinating. Solent Sky can be found just across the road from the main entrance into Ocean Village....
