IT MUST BE ME!!!!! I've listened to every minute of every game so far this season, up until half time today, and we've been dire. I had to go out for 3/4 hr this morning (our time!), so missed most of the 2nd half and we spring to life. Who wants to pay me NOT to listen in on Monday!!!!

Ended as a fine 2-0 win but the first half seemed the same old same old.
But the second half was so much better.
Good points
The defence was brilliant all game. Cresswell was commanding but Johnson was outstanding, I really hopes he keeps his fitness because he was a class above.
Bad points
We still need Parts & Luke back. The touchline play still needs improving.
I really don't think Ryan Bird is an improvement on JC.

Rendel I'll have a bet with you that not one of those 3 will start and 2 of them may not even make the bench. You should have taken that bet Rendel

It was a drab game but a win is a win. There is still lots to do but the team were more compact and attempting to play with width. Reda Johnson should never be in this division. He was a class above anything I've seen at the Silverlake as a centre half. If he stays fit surely league clubs will be sniffing again. Onwards and upwards though.

The first half was one of the worst I have ever seen. In the second, much more energy from us, but the game turned on a bad error from their keeper, letting a flick shot, squeeze under his body to just cross the line. The second goal another set play, again badly defended. After that we were comfortable and could have had more. Was it entertaining? No, not very. Do I care. No. Now for another 3 points Monday.
EFC are on the march!

First 45 were a tad dire - but whatever the Boss was writing - and he never stopped scribbling until half-time - obviously formed the basis of one hell of a half time talk because the approach was much more positive after the break. A small step perhaps but we are already mid-table heading up the group of clubs on 8 points after six games.
RĂ©da Johnson was my MOTM. Didn't expect him to stay on the full 94 minutes - VERY impressed.

I like the new electronic score board, it looked very impressive. I LOVE the new scoreboard, but could it be a little higher? Glad to see us back to winning ways.

Good 3 points and a good second half performance. There was never any real chance of Solihull getting past our defence they looked really solid all day.
As already mentioned we missed Parts and Luke if they were fit and in the team yesterday it could have been very exciting.
Bit worried about our strike force though, none of them have looked threatening all season and that continued yesterday. If they were creating chances and missing them I would feel better but there seems to be precious little happening up front.
Enjoyed the banter with the SM fans in the shed second half, back to the future moment!
Let's hope we don't need the half time talking to again on Monday #spitfires

I guess the most important thing is we picked up the win and gained two unexpected points on Tranmere to close the gap. The first half was a continuation of the season so far, a team shot on confidence, no desire, passion or energy to play football. I actually remarked at half time we looked like a relegation team in the making because they have to get their confidence and belief back and get out of the quicksand they are sinking into. Our problems lie in midfield and attack as defensively we look very sound, what a performance from Johnson, but credit the whole defence. Watching the first half from the shed end we put in four absolute belters of crosses in the centre of the box, yet not once did an Eastleigh player make any attempt to challenge the ball, even if you cannot connect at least let the opposition know you're there, it was too easy for them to sweep up. As I watched those wasted balls it reminded me of the comment SunnySaturdays made after he saw the clip of Dugdale's goal at Tranmere, a classy composed finish which impressed me when it went in that day. Why not have a look in training if he could be a new Paul Warhurst, he's big, he's strong, and could be the type of target man we are missing upfront while he showed with that finish at Tranmere he is composed in front of goal and would be an asset I feel, certainly he would have challenged those crosses yesterday. From somewhere we need a 20+ striker and its clear at the moment we don't have someone, don't tell me Constable is the answer because he's not. There is nothing to lose in training by looking at Dugdale/Mandron and Dugdale/Wilson combinations surely...over to RM and his coaching staff for that. Second half we were better, there was energy in the side, possibly a wake up call made by RM in the dressing room shook them up. The one worry about our two goals, set pieces, and put away by our two centre backs. I don't keep stats but maybe Rendel or another of our buffs can provide figures as regards say the last 25 league goals, how many have been set pieces and open play? Football is a funny old game, the win yesterday could see us go on a run, half the battle with our team at the moment is getting confidence into them that they can win this league, going out and expressing themselves, enjoy their football with a smile on their faces, and winning games will do that. And finally just to add to the belief that we are a difficult side to beat, the two games we lost, one to the last kick of the match, the other in the final minutes, considering we are no where near our best yet thats a sobering thought for the other clubs to worry about when we do!!!! Oh and find a 20+ striker please RM....two would be better tho!!! By the way, our new scoreboard is top notch, Thanks Stewart, Top Man as always.

Terrible first half only slightly better the second.Mandron's performance can be best summed up as feeble. When your captain & other experienced players start having a go at you,you know your not pulling your weight, whilst I know he's got some admirers on here in all the games I've seen him play in he looks a real lightweight.I don't doubt he's got talent given time & space but you won't get it in this league.Bird doesn't look a lot better & as someone mentioned before it has to be time to start Wilson possibly with Dugdale, they certainly do any worse. On a brighter note the new scoreboard is great.
