87 points might just be enough I think!
I reckon 6 wins from the 8 will do it

87 points could well get third let alone the play offs.

"If Dover win today then the play offs are gone." Dover 3-0 up before half-time !! If things stay the same we would be 5 points behind a play-off spot on equal number of games played (38) with Dover and Braintree who will be on 68 points. As I type the Froggies have gone 4-0 up

If 80 points was on the table I would take it now & think it gives us a fair chance of making it.
Dover playing Torquay of course, hopefully they will be demoralised for Monday!

As long as they aren't as demoralised as Welling.

If we start against Torquay like we started against Welling, we might as well not travel.

As long as they aren't as demoralised as Welling. Can't be that bad. So just an easy 3-0 win, not 4.

Yeah my prediction last game was lousy but Welling were there for the taking and the result had more to do with us being really poor even though Welling battled hard. I'll be more conservative for Torquay and say 2v2 but hope it's 0v4!

but Welling were there for the taking
I just can't see on what basis you conclude this. They were disciplined on the ball, kept a good shape and gave 100% from first to last. It seems to me that that comment is based on the league table rather than the actual performance. Granted had we played anywhere near like we are capable we would have won, but it would have been a tough game regardless, and if we had won 1 or 2 that is all we would have done. We need to get away from this mind set, that somehow implies we are much better than other teams in this league, we are not, and we delude ourselves if we think we are.

Welling are a team in the bottom four who have only won six all season and were down to 10 men for an hour, surely this was a missed opportunity? Credit to Welling for battling hard but if Eastleigh are serious about the play offs they have to beat Welling at home. I'll hold my hand up and say I got carried away with a 4v0 prediction but when you see Dover hammering Torquay for five today and think about the squad we have are my hopes for Eastleigh to be much better than a bottom four team that daft?

Can't afford not to win on Monday.
Although we are 5 points behind Dover and Braintree, our poor goal difference really makes this a 6 point gap with 8 games left for all three clubs. Don't want the season to end at Grimsby.

Dover away to Borehamwood, Braintree at Aldershot on Monday, they looked nailed on wins. Ours at Torquay could well be called off with Storm Katie in the area. 9th April is the big day, we're at Grimsby, Dover at Wrexham, and Braintree home to Forest Green. Tranmere's next three games are Kiddy away, Welling home, and Torquay away which on paper should be 9 points. The key word at this time is pressure and how they all handle it.....will any of them buckle and allow us to get an unlikely foothold on a PO spot as things currently stand. I think the team finishing fifth will have between 84-86 points and I honestly do not see us getting near that now. This is a tough league to get out of, I'd say this league is a better one than League Two and its high time two teams got automatic promotion with the play offs going down to sixth place. The FL can't just allow parachute payments to their relegated brothers and not offer our league something in return for that unfair advantage, three up and three down has to come in.

We have 63 points not 62 in the league table I can see That point was significant as it means we can't now be relegated this season. I mention this because it was probably the only positive feature of the day.
