Should I go to the bookmakers. Paul? My first game back, so I’m looking forward to it. Let’s hope that Mr Hill is the Messiah. After that, maybe he is the Messiah! There was a time in the match that I was thinking that I should have taken the 11/1 on Paul’s prediction. Onwards and upwards, although Saturday will be a tougher test, but I’ll stay the optimist.

Yep first 15/20 mins were awful but soon as we got that equaliser something clicked. After that probably best I’ve seen us play for 2-3 years. Nigel wasn’t having a good game, giving the ball away for fun, but that’s the best I’ve seen Taylor play. And yeah got to say it was entertaining stuff. Long may it continue!

First half there were the old failings - misplaced passes, letting the opposition attack us - a very flattering lead at half time.
not long ago, against Oxford City (another Tuesday game), we were abysmal in the second half, and RH was saying the fitness levels of some players left something to be desired. What a difference tonight as we dominated and put in a confident performance in those 45 minutes. If he's improved the fitness that much in a short time then that's an impressive achievement.
The back five had Atangana and Nwaboukei in front today at the start - didn't look a lot better than usual. As stated earlier, when Taylor came on, it looked much better. IIRC Taylor was playing in front of a back four before his injury so maybe the back five gives him a bit more security and authority.
Given the ball more often, and allowed to play, the front three showed how good they are, as I've kept saying all season. Macca will get the plaudits for an excellent hat-trick, but Quigley supported him really well, and they are developing a good partnership. Add to that Maguire's creativity behind them, that's a good trio.
Ebbsfleet looked good for 40 minutes but then faded badly and made some defensive errors. It was they who seemed to tire in the second half. Not sure how much of that was due to us.
A muted home welcome for the 'new boss' with another disappointing crowd. One defeat in six since Gateshead, eight goals in the last two, and a playoff position, may bring them back. If the team continues to develop the way they are.

We were the better team for the 1st half hour or so, then chose to gift you all 5 goals. You weren't that good. Just we are shambolic away from home currently and can't defend for toffee. Bear in mind we have also lost 4-1 at Gateshead and 6-1 at Altrincham already this season.
Thought you were fortunate your 9 got through the game as well, after all his complaining to the ref and then his foul midway through the 2nd half.
But obviously no complaints at the result when we defend as poorly as we do ( if you can even use the word "defend"!)

That was a really weird game, definitely a game of 2 halves.
Really poor for most of the first half. Both goals very much against the run of play, pretty much lead 2-1 with goals from our only 2 attacks! Couldn't see if McCallums 2nd went in, no-one seemed to complain so I assume it did.
Second half was really good, flowing football. Great link up between Quigley & McCallum and good to see Maguire bury his penalty as well. So overall a comfortable win, but the way we started that looked very unlikely indeed.
Get the feeling we are attacking with some confidence now. McCallum joint 2nd scorer in the league.
I do think 7th is a bit of a false position at the moment, 4 points off 6th and also 4 points off 16th! We need a few more decent results to be in a solid top 7 spot.
Lowest crowd for close to 4 years. I hope & think it will be the lowest of the season.

Yeah I arrived right on kick off and it was a pretty good atomsphere.
Felt pretty sorry for Ebbsfleet, attacks on top tonight, on another night they win 5-2! Did seem to fall apart a bit in the 2nd half though.

Yeah a strange game..... hard to say if the result was down to quality on our part or Ebbsfleet's woeful defence/constantly giving the ball away. Likely somewhere in between. Fair to say all of our goals were really well taken, especially Quigley's, and that we looked much more assured in central midfield when Taylor came on. Confidence seemed higher once we got going - hopefully we can build on that as there will certainly be tougher games than this one.

More than happy with the result but there's a long way to go. First 15 we were poor, started slowly and let in a trademark sloppy goal by not picking the man up. Decent header from Macca for the leveller and he managed to poke in the second as well. Good moves for the 3rd from Quigley and 4th for Macca's hat trick. In between Ebbsfleet should have scored again bar a magnificent stop from McDonnell and then we let the same guy through again to pull one back. Good determination from Enzo to win the penalty as well. However, Ebbsfleet were poor, they kept giving the ball away and weren't at the races defensively - that said we too gave the ball away too much and against a better side we would have been punished for this. Overall a slight improvement but better teams than Ebbsfleet await.

Yes at 3-1 and Macca with his brace, i thought i'd nailed it! But knew there was still plenty of time to go and we would likely score again.

In the interview with Macca he claimed it was a “perfect” hatrick left foot, right foot, header. I thought it was two headers though, unless he claims his head is is right foot. Probably more ruthless to be fair 😂
