Just watched the highlights. Zero pressure on the ball in 3 mins of highlights and god awful defending for the first goal, 1 player of theirs in the box we had 3 defenders around him, but not one of them picked him up. Schoolboy stuff tbh.

Thanks for that - yes, pretty damning.
'Lack of legs'...'daydreaming'... 'not brave on the ball' - isn't that down to training and preparation? And, of course, the nature of the squad that has been assembled?
Yes, first goal was terrible defending. Seen that a couple of times in the first couple of home games already. Mitchell was also allowed a lot of freedom for the second.

That was bad. I’ve never booed the team off for such a poor performance, but I had to leave on 87 minutes to protect that record. That’s now 11 consecutive matches without a win in the National League. 7 draws and 4 defeats. 😡 So 7 points from a possible 33 & not a single win in 11 games. Unless you are a club with a bottom 3 budget, that gets you sacked in pretty much any league in the country. Does he get the 2 games over the bank holiday to try and get those wins, or will the wheels already be in motion to replace him. I suspect that latter.. Gary Joihnson (Torquay) anyone? I know they got relegated last season, but i understand the fans want him out and the owner out and i think he's a decent manager, who i know we were thinking about a few years ago. He also won this league with Cheltenham about 5-6 years ago, so knows whats needed. Tisdale, Ardley, Campbell, Defoe, Holloway, Cowley

I'd take the Cowley's out of all of them all day long, but there's a big stumbling block there.

I personally think that 3 point from 4 games is not a disaster in itself. The last time we reached the playoffs we had 10 pints from our first 10 games What is important is the potential for improvement a nd this is something people may have different views on. I do think it is a bit concerning that in the last three games, our goalkeeper has been our standout player and on the other occasion we played poorly in the first half.
As I said before what cost us dearly last season in terms of results was the away form in the first half of the season and the run of 4 games in 8 days and it was hoped that the new signings and increased budget would improve things, but whether some of our new signings will work out in the longer terms ramakins to be seen.
My own belief is that often attack is the best form of defence and defence is the best form of attack. If you defend well then opponents often have to push more players forward to break you down and then potentially leave gaps for a coounter attack. Our first goal on Tuesday which put us back in the game came from a counter attack.
In the last two games (only one of which I saw) we have looked very suspect defensively and in both games have gone into half time with a two goal deficit which rarely if at all happened in successive games last season.
I think that any new new manager coming in would not find it easy for reasons I could explain, but when Martin Allen was here we clearly reached s point where things would be unlikely to improve under his management and people will have different ideas as to how close we are to the point. I think it is important though that we give a good account of ourselves on Friday as we endeavour to bounce back from Saturday'd sisappointent.

Let’s be honest they were possibly the worst team EVER to grace our pitch. They should have been put to the sword by half time

I thought that in the first 30 minutes of the Barnet game we played without any cohesion and if the Rochdale game was a 90 minute replica of this then it must be very frustrating for those who travelled a long distance to witness it. It might also be worth bearing in mind that last Saturday was only Rochdale's second home game in non-league football and in seven of the last nine seasons they were playing in League 1.
I also think that although I have seen some Eastleigh performances in the National League which have been poor, I have seen worst performances when the club played at a lower level when the opposition was less able to deal with our shortcomings.
Actually on the subject of worst performances I see the club are charging £45 a head to hear probably the worst ski-jumper in Olympic history with his scores in a field of more than 50 competitors being less than half the next worst performer.
