well here we are, 4 wins on the spin and we sit a legimate 7th place irrespective of what teams below us do with their game in hand. Must admit I did not think we get there. Now the job is to stay here :0)
14 games left, if we assume the top 3 will finish in the top 7 that leaves 4 spaces & 10 teams (down to Altrincham) fighting for them.
Last time we made 7th we got 74pts which I am sure will do it this time.
That means 24 points needed, in reality a bit less may well do IMO.

I think that, before we get carried away, we must hope and pray that Southend United don’t get wound up by HMRC on 1st March. If that happens, we lose 6 points.

If the worst happens and Southend disappear do we know how the other teams around us would be affected?
What a great place to be in at this stage tho!
If all goes to plan it is in our hands, Saturday is set up to be a great game!

Would think Wealdstone in 11th are now the last team to have genuine hopes of a top 7 place.
So 4 from 8 will make it.
4-3-4 would give us 72 which could well be enough.
In our last 11 games we only 3 of the top 11 "contenders" in Notts County, Boreham Wood & Chesterfield.
Am sure there will be plenty of twists & turns to come.

Just 6 games left now and we have a couple of rounds of games to be played before we are next in action.
Think 3 wins will do it & 2 may well be enough.
Unless we can have a really great finish top 5 is out of our reach. In a perfect world we would be guaranteed a playoff spot before we kick off on the last day which would allow us to rotate the squad.

If Bromley and Dagenham and Redbridge win both of their games in hand they will be only 3 points behind us, but both have still to play Chesterfield, Barnet and Boreham Wood.
Four of our six remaining games are against teams in the lower half of the table, but teams battling to ,avoid relegation might raise the game. Not many teams are not either battling for as playoff place or to avoid relegation.

Feels like we have blown it, but we are still 7th.
Looked up Bromley and their next 3 games are Gateshead, Halifax & Chesterfield!

Feels like we have blown it, but we are still 7th. Looked up Bromley and their next 3 games are Gateshead, Halifax & Chesterfield! Dont deserve it anyway . The league position is totally false .Not anywhere near good enough and never will be with the manager we have at present . No doubt the happy clappers will have other opinions .

Just out of interest, where are all these 'happy clappers' nowadays? I think that phrase may be a little out-of-date.
Reading the threads all I see is criticism for the manager for boring football, inadequate tactics, being 'not good enough'. At best, people are saying he's doing OK given the squad and the resource limitations. Nothing better than that. I've seen very little actual praise for the manager this season.
I'm in the latter camp, I expected mid-table looking towards the playoffs and that's pretty much what we got. As I've said many times, the squad has certain limitations, not sure who is responsible for that. Many teams in the league have greater resources than us. Sounds like there will be lots of changes over the summer anyway.

I think LB has done a fantastic job, I had Eastleigh down as near , if not getting relegated this season. However if we were really serious in grabbing one of the play off spots we might have made a change recently, that 2 week break killed us, not only did we not play and keep momentum other teams have subsequently caught and and built theirs, I was on with the result last night Gateshead are a decent team now, Torquay I hoped for a draw seeing as they had the foresight to buy a player recently who will probably keep them up, the Aldershot result should have been a run of the mill win though. Had a neutral with me last night, who couldn't believe we had no leaders on the pitch, no player that really drives the team and didn't get how things didn't change when we went behind for the 2nd time, we certainly should have gone gung ho at 1-1!

The Happy Clappers comment is standard in the current climate, some people think the whole point of a forum or any social media is to cause division and have a row with someone.

I don’t think any other manager would have had us in a better position overall this season , but many of the games have been awful to watch and yes our league position is decent but many of the wins have been by a lucky goal here and there which has been flattering against the overall drab games that have been dished up. League position is for most the number one priority but if we add a bit of football into that then who could moan.

The Happy Clappers comment is standard in the current climate, some people think the whole point of a forum or any social media is to cause division and have a row with someone. What exactly IS the point of a forum if it's not to share differing opinions? I have been criticized on here & FB for my opinion, but it's water off a ducks back to me. I have my views and have no problem sharing them. I also have no issue if you disagree. I don't expect anyone to agree with me, but I expect to be able to voice those opinions. Do you think we should just all accept anything that is thrown at us and not have an opinion that differs from someone else? And if that is the case, Where does the original opinion come from?

Don't forget, this is LB's squad. last season his excuse was that he inherited the team, but this one he built. I had major reservations from early on when we had a squad, with 1 goalkeeper, about 25 defenders a couple of midfielders and 1 striker. But even with the same squad, too often he has employed the wrong tactics. His clean sheet at all costs approach has seen us draw too many games we should've/could've won, and lost too many we should've/could've gotten a draw from. It seems he doesn't have faith in the squad he built to be able to go out & play.

That's exactly the point of the forum, but we are all supporting the same team. The issue is that some people think we have to divide into teams hence you get comments like 'happy clappers' as if everyone who said something you don't agree with is grouped as someone who does not have a valid opinion. We don't have to agree and will all have different opinions but bottom line is we are on the same team. You'll be calling people snowflakes next.
