Current Sunderland chairman has now obtained 51% of the club, but SD still has 19% at the moment. He can’t come back to Eastleigh or go elsewhere until it is less than 10%.

Dreyfus did have 41% so if he now has 51% it would appear that SD sold him 10% of his shares. But SD had 34%, so unless he has sold 5% to someone else, it would appear that SD should have 24% ? As said, suspect he's sold 5% to someone else, and will hopefully sell all remaining shares to someone, so he can get out of Sunderland completely.

SD now has 19% (was 34%) as you say and Charlie Methven now has 0% (did have 5%). So between them 20% were sold. As you say 10% to Dreyfus making 51% and 10% to Sartori who now has 30%.
Not sure where this leaves SD in terms of shedding other 19%, is he left hanging as now of no interest to Dreyfus as he has full control?

If that's the case, he'll sell his remaining 19% to Sartori, who will then have 49%. It then becomes the same scenario - why would Sartori want 49% of shares as it doesnt give him control. That said, I don't suppose he ever really wanted full control, so he might well be happy with that and will eventually cash in if they ever get to the Premier League.

safc.com/news/club-news/2022/june/club-statement-22-june-2022Sunderland AFC today announces that Kyril Louis-Dreyfus has increased his ownership stake in the Club to 51%. In parallel, Juan Sartori has increased his stake to 30%. Governance remains unchanged. The shares have been acquired through the purchase of shares held by Charlie Methven, who has sold all of his shares, and Stewart Donald, who has sold down his stake to 19%. safc.com/news/club-news/2022/june/club-statement-kyril-louis-dreyfusFollowing the Club Statement issued by Sunderland AFC at 08:00 on Wednesday 22 June 2022, Chairman Kyril Louis-Dreyfus released the following comment. Kyril Louis-Dreyfus: “Today marks an important step as we continue to rebuild Sunderland AFC. Following the 2021-22 season, it was the intention of Juan and I to ensure the ongoing speculation relating to the Club’s shareholding was addressed as soon as possible. Our ownership group has been consolidated and there will be no further sale of shares to a third-party buyer. We remain committed to our strategy of delivering long-term success and sustainability and together, alongside our dedicated staff and loyal supporters, I believe we can now move forward as one unified football club.”

So this implies that SD is going to hold on to his 19% share or will only sell to either Dreyfus or Sartori (no third party), which i think is a strange statement, because surely SD can sell his shares to a third party if he wanted to or got a good offer for them & if he was going to sell to Dreyfus or Sartori he would have sold the lot in one go. It also implies that SD will not be coming onboard at EFC this season, as he cannot do that with 19% shares in another British Football club.

The new majority shareholder only turned 24 at the end of last season. I do not know whether there was a factor in why he did not become majority shareholder earlier.
I think that the Sunderland fans were virtually unanimous in not wanting Fans Together to become shareholders at the club and so for the time being the idea of third party involvement is not being considered.

before this recent development Dreyfus owned 41% and SD and Methven owned 39% and I believe they had a "gentleman's agreement" that Dreyfus's share would be controlling and that (presumably) SD wouldn't go against him.
We will know that "gentleman's agreements" often don't count for a lot and when SD announced he was looking to sell a couple of months ago and there were rumours of a cryptocurrency company interested I am guessing Dreyfus got a bit edgy and so it makes sense to me that he wanted to shore up his controlling interest and take his holding to 51%.
I assume Dreyfus and Satori are happy with their shareholdings (or they would have bought more last week) so seems unlikely to be any changes for them in the near future. As for SD it seems he is a fairly passive shareholder at Sunderland at the moment, whether that suits him or not, only time will tell.
