Interesting to see The Fans Together, who newspaper talk suggests are in negotiation for SD Sunderland shares, have just sponsored the shirts and stadium of Cribbs FC from Bristol for next season. Looks as if this came about via a Greek student playing for Cribbs who has some connection with a Greek Second Division side that TFT are involved with.
People may know the Cribbs manager, Rich Luffman, who has previously managed Stoneham and Alresford. Good to see a fan base collective getting involved at Step 5 level if they also genuinely have the funding to own a sinificant percentage of Sunderland.
Wish them well in their aims of significant fan ownership of clubs in the future.

Would steer well clear. A 2nd Div Cypriot club and a 7th Div (?) English club, or a billionaire who already owns the rest of the shares.

The situation at Sunderland is a strange one to me. When Dreyfus came in and bought into Sunderland, i initially assumed he had bought a majority share to take control of the club, but it soon transpired that he only bought a 41% share. So although he had more shares than any of the other owners, he is not a majority share holder. My understanding of the share splits is as follows:-
Dreyfus 41% Donald 34% Sartori 20% Methvan 5%
It will be interesting to see/hear who SD sells his shares to, and equally interesting to see if Sartori & Methvan also sell their shares to the same people as SD (if they sell at all). Because if Dreyfus does not acquire an additional 10%, he will never be the majority share holder and you wonder what he can achieve there with a 41% share. If SD and Sartori sell to the same person, then that person will become the majority share holder with 54%. The devil in me says that SD will sell his shares to Sartori, making Sartori the majority share holder...

Isn't one of the issues with Sartori the possible fact his Russian wife might be feeling the strain financially, she also owns AS Monaco, Dreyfus of course linked historically with O Marseille

Although Sartori was part of the Donald gang he has stayed on the board and currently supports Dreyfus ensuring they have a majority between them. But if you were Dreyfus would you be happy longer term with that, all it needs is a fall out between the two.
As I understand it Dreyfus money, all left by his Dad, is still in trust for a few more years and his Mum bankrolls him until then. I also saw a suggestion that an Uncle is trying to purchase the Donald shares, via a third party, to ensure he has control. All paper talk though just as the TFT interest was.

Someone's not had their Weetabix.
Without trying to bore people it is about the man who built the the places we drink in, eat in, stand in, sit in, enabled the level of football we play in, started the near 2.5k a week increase in our attendances and still enables us to watch the top level of non league football at the cheapest price in that league.
There again 'What did the Romans ever do for us?'.

Lets leave his legacy and move forward, instead of what seems like a quarter of all posts on here revolving around his tenure. Its dull.

Rarely is there anything posted on here by the Bomber that is glass half full. Usually the glass is empty or at best half empty. Takes all sorts, I suppose. And we all have our moments of doubt. Anyway, IIRC, perhaps it's all credit to her/him that this forum is back up & active with more contributors than in recent years. Please don't take a fence, Bomber.
